Wanted one for years. Finally decided B8gger it and got one.
Mostly coz simon wouldnae leave me alone
Tis a 111R.
Got it at the start of the year, so just getting used to it.
Great fun
He had only just posted that he was recovering from a multiple knee fracture but it sounds as if he must have had a sudden stroke/heart failure. I had met him a few times over the years, but if any one on here is a friend of his, please pass on our sympathies to his family.

Tut, not sure what his issues were, all he mentioned was having a reaction to antibiotics.
It's me with the fractured knee.
As above though, if anyone knows any of his friends or family, please pass on our condolences from the group.

What a shame. I've known Phil since around 1999 when we both stayed close to Blairgowrie and were in to Subaru Impreza's.
As mention, Phil was a complete gentleman.
RIP.

I'll pass all the messages on to his sister and maybe send her the link to this thread too.

Very sad news. It's a strange feeling having read a lot of someone's posts but never met them especially as he came across as a thoroughly decent chap and shared our love of lotus.
RIP Phil.

Lost for words Simon, so so sorry to hear this. Absolutely tragic. Thoughts completely with his family. Such a warm kind hearted fellow, you could not hope to meet a nicer person.

I'm in complete shock!
I had known Phil since high school. When I stayed in Blair we Subaru'd and cycled together.
When he found out I'd gotten an Elise, I think he was more excited than I was. When it then turned out to be the worst car I'd ever owned, I'm sure he was more gutted than I was
My thoughts are with everyone at this sad, sad time.

Sad news indeed, I didn't know him myself but to hear of someone in there 40s go feels long before their time. Just goes to show we all assume old age is a given.

Never have taken it for granted Saj, but now that I am there I would have preferred it to go on for a little while longer. Tis the ones that are left behind that go through the suffering.
For Phil in his 40's it should not be.

Only just read this - so sorry to hear, Simon.
Phil was a lovely guy, proper gent, as a few have said. Didn't often see him, but ran into him a few times at SE events years ago and was a really nice bloke to have a chinwag with. Kept in touch a little through Facebook and it seems insane to think it's not a name I'll see pop up again.
Really sad.
