Re: The Grand Tour thread - apologies!
Watched most of the TGT episodes again over the #genderneutralmulticulturaldiversity festival, apart from some crap filler bits the shows are pretty bloody good. 2nd still the weakest.
Will gladly pay for more

Re: The Grand Tour thread - apologies!
OK, we are up to Ep.11...
Looks and feels like they are back to their best, the awkwardness of the earlier shows has gone.
Loved the Maserati piece, yes it's predictable, but does not stop it being funny.

Re: The Grand Tour thread - apologies!
Interesting. I watched 1 and thought it was ok, then watched 2 and thought it was crap and never went back. If the 2nd one is the worst, perhaps I should go back and watch more. I want to watch the Maserati one anyway, so might just watch them in a random order.kenny wrote:Watched most of the TGT episodes again over the #genderneutralmulticulturaldiversity festival, apart from some crap filler bits the shows are pretty bloody good. 2nd still the weakest.

Doesn't help that my wife doesn't want to watch anything "with that idiot in it" mind.

Unlikely you will see us there, as we were right at the back at the tent opening...

Re: The Grand Tour thread
How long did all the filming take?

Re: The Grand Tour thread
I think from entering the tent from the holding area to the end of filming was 2.5 hours. Passed really quickly and to be fair to them, very few re-takes required. They also usually have a break, so Clarkson can have a fag, but they powered on through and had us out of there for 3pm-ish from memory.

Does sound like fun then

Re: The Grand Tour thread
Watched the Ness / Maserati episode.
Better than I expected actually. Decent content and the car challenge section was a good compromise of the old Top Gear pointless destruction and them actually looking like they were enjoying it.
There was a certain charm to that old 430 in a "that would be an amazing daily" kinda way. I'm really, really no where near that brave though!!

EP12 - [Censored] & [Censored]
Really good episode, got the right balance between fooling about and actually good car stuff.
Actually thinking of looking at a jag for the first time in my life!

Another vote here. For episode AND the Jag. Something to aspire to.

Re: The Grand Tour thread
So, the first season is over in just over 2 months and 13 episodes.
Personally, after a shaky start, they have found their form, and I look forward to season 2 (9+ months is going to be a long wait!)
What does everybody else think? rate out of 10? (I give it 7 overall)
It's a shame we will not get any accurate/genuine viewing figures.

Re: The Grand Tour thread
I think maybe 7 / 10 also. But a bit of a generalisation as some were 5/10 and others 8 or 9.
All in all good entertainment and family viewing with the odd edgy bit, and others they should just bin like Celebrity "braincrash". I mean, WTF?!
