Being all clean and shiny and bright yellow adds to the embarrassment, which is brilliant.

I even clocked him looking up and down the pavement to see who was about before popping the door button under the mirror :damnfunny

When I was in 5th year (maybe 6th year) my dad drove a brand new red Alfa 156.
I was overjoyed when he picked me up from school in it (which was rare).
Can't imagine what it'd have felt like if he picked me up in a bright yellow Cerbera! :O

That being said, since I went to Braeview, it's probably more of a wonder that the Alfa made it out in one piece - the Cerb would be ripe for the picking, and up on bricks before I got the chance to reach for the door release under the mirror :blackeye

Today it's a beige Fiat 500. Ironically he'll be less embarrassed.

Where did I go wrong? :damnfunny

Not like you to be a show off...

The auto rev start on the V6 has massive dickhead implications in front of schools, mums with prams, and other such situations where a subtle exit is preferable.

Yes annoying isn’t it. Nice when cold starting as it doesn’t do it.

The two neighbours I actually get along with are proper car junkies.. I remember one of them telling me that he lays in bed with a smile on his face when I head off early morning for a run and he can tell where I am heading out of the estate by the noise... "that's John on the dual carriageway now"....

Bollocks to your quiet start mode....
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....
