Thanks for sharing, Kerry.

It's all a bit Geek for me and I got bored. But I applaud McLaren and cannot fault their attention to detail and probably build quality.

I don't really aspire to their cars as I expect them to be unattainable dreams. I haven't checked but I imagine residuals are rock solid. So they will remain outta my league indefinitely.

I think it's amazing that you have one, Kerry, and I demand that you bring it along to our next Campaganza. And that you take me to our chosen hillwalk in it ;-)

That's one of the plans for the year......if only for the stupidity of it.

Residuals on the 12C are good and if I keep it long enough who knows, mine is number 50 built, which means hand built before the production line started. Coincidently my exige was also no. 50.

I don't aspire to buy one of the new ones, the 12C was a specific objective I'd had for a while. Almost exactly this time last year I decided there was a risk prices might start increasing out of range, so it was now or never. 1 year in I don't regret it, it's been a learning experience and great fun. I took it for an MOT 2 weeks ago, what a laugh start to finish. I just used the local garage, they all stopped work for half an hour and between us managed to figure out how to get the tests done. It was a struggle to get on the lift, got stuck on the brake tester and the suspension (active) caused a bit of head scratching. Not helped by the fact I had to figure out how to get some things to work. In the end job done and all had a bit of fun.

In contrast today I'm upside down below the dash of the old 911 trying to sort the electric windows.........hopefully just a bad connection or the relay, but it's like spaghetti so may take a while.

I'm sure the new car will look better than the pictures suggest and everything that's gone before will look soon look outdated, but that's when I start to like the old ones, a black 12c would do me nicely.

The exhaust note is raspy, quite different to the previous cars. Unfortunately I don't have a link as it was just recorded on someones phone at the Glasgow launch. It is worth a listen if someone posts a car running on the net.
