Went to the Geneva Motorshow yesterday Although Lotus wasn't at the show there was a good showing from SE as Andy, Scott and Baz also went along too.

I'll upload all the pictures asap but here are a few to get started with.

Koenigsegg rolled out a pretty special car at the Geneva Motorshow. A special-edition Agera, the RS Gryphon, featuring 24-carat gold accents.The RS Gryphon’s body was finished in clearcoat-covered carbon fibre, while its stripes, logos, hood struts, engine badging, and interior trimmings were made of gold. A car-matched custom carbon-fibre racing helmet also received gold accents, in keeping with the car’s 24-carat theme. A truly stunning car!

A personal favourite of mine - the Pagani Zonda. A supercar produced from 1999 to 2011; and in that time it cemented itself as one of the most iconic and spectacular models ever to be produced. The brainchild of Horacio Pagani, famed for works such as the Lamborghini Countach and with some early engineering from Juan Manuel Fangio, the Pagani Zonda is also a car of unquestionable provenance, albeit from a new brand.

The C12 debuted at the 1999 Geneva Motor Show, then powered by a 400 bhp Mercedes AMG V12 engine; a relationship that would last for the entirety of the Zonda production. The C12 was then developed into a Zonda S and subsequently S 7.3; highlighting Horacio's desire to constantly develop the model enhancing on what was an already stunning foundation.

This car is a Zonda S Roadster; the first convertible version of the model, that was introduced in 2003. Carrying the larger 7.3 V12 from Mercedes, putting out around 550 bhp.

I have become rather blasé about Hypercars/Supercars, there are so many now and they all have ludicrous performance figures.

However the new Regera is their luxury road model as opposed to the track orientated models, yet it is the most powerful, and how do you get your mind around 0-250mph in 20 secs.

It isn't a Porsche

One of my favourite cars of the show. The 2017 RUF CTR, a brand-new, rear-engine 710bhp speed freak that, for the first time in RUF history, is built on a completely bespoke carbon chassis rather than a production Porsche platform. A tribute to the original CTR. The rear-engine, rear-drive beast is powered by a twin-turbo dry sump water-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine cranking out 700 horsepower and 649 lb-ft of torque. The only available transmission is a six-speed manual, and it's only available in rear-wheel drive, just like original Yellow Bird.

It has a carbon fiber monocoque structure, which is a RUF job. Attached to the monocoque are steel crash structures front and rear. It has a dry weight of about 1200kg. Hits 62 mph in 3.5 seconds, and 9 seconds to hit 125 mph. Its top speed is 225 mph. Handling is provided by double-wishbone control arms actuating pushrod shock absorbers. The front brakes are six-piston fixed calipers; the rear are four-piston units.

It has more in common with a McLaren and Lotus than a 911 other than the 964 Turbo looks. Oh and it's €750,000 and limited to 30 units so naturally I've ordered one in black and one in red to match the Evora.

Great write up Saj. I'm also heading over on Monday with my dad. What was the access to the stands like? Assume the likes of Ferrari etc are by invitation only? Went over a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it although remember it was mega busy. Hoping that with it not being the weekend this time and initial hype having died down it should hopefully be a little quieter!
