I'm liking the look of the new cars , look hard but rewarding to drive , pretty racy should hopefully be entertaining.

Popular topic then
The cars look better, but to the untrained eye, I'm not sure they look different enough and it seems to me that they don't really know what they want with the regs. They seem to give with one hand and snatch it back with the other.
For example:
Lower, swept back wings to promote an aggressive look - ok. Coat hangers, erm, sure.
Nice big fat wide tyres to promote high grip levels and make them faster, yep! Wider front wings so they rely more on the aero and can't follow one another.
Push towards technology driving hybrid engines - good plan. Moan about rising costs.
Remove the tech behind the starts, simplifying the clutches, and make the cars overall harder to drive. Let Lance Stroll in a car (seriously, he looks dangerous out there sawing away at the wheel constantly!).
All of the changes aside, the best thing to happen in Melbourne was Ferrari winning. This gives us hope that it won't be another Merc dominance, and that others can catch up too..

Hamilton summed it up for me in his interview. Overtaking done in the pits, fairly dull race.

I missed it, have not yet bothered to watch the highlights.
On another note, the Mclaren/Honda situation is going worse than expected. It's a shame to see Alonso in such a useless car, that has the added benefit of trying to vibrate it's self to pieces.

Not impressed. Dull race and the latest changes have not helped. Watched moto3 last night, fantastic, and a great result for John McPhee.

Absolutely and MotoGP was good too.

It was inevitable that this would happen when they switched to high downforce cars. The turbulence created makes it nigh on impossible to overtake unless the car in front is significantly underpowered. They do lap quicker but it will be a mega procession for the entire season the further up the grid you go. Doubt it will any better as the year goes on but hopefully I am wrong and we get to see some proper racing.
First race was as dull as dish water.

Tried 3 times to watch first race. Fell asleep twice and gave up trying to stream on the 3rd.
Not convinced I'll try too hard to watch any more

Disappointing start to what was an eagerly anticipated season. I hope the next race bring more excitement but I'm not hopeful, particularly as China hasn't been one of the better circuits previously.
I was thinking I might try to go a race again this year after missing a live race last year but dropped all thoughts of bothering with it for now.

The cars looked so exciting in qually. Visibly faster, and some of the turn-in flicks were back to the old high-downforce days. Perfect.
The only interest to be found in the race was the newness of it all... new drivers, old drivers in new cars, new tyres. Nothing actually happened, and I agree with the general consensus that it doesn't look like it will. Oh well...

Will give them the benefit of the doubt for the first race, but the goodwill is not going to last.
Looks as if Ferrari and Mercedes are neck and neck, but the drivers are not getting chance to overtake at the front, so it is pit stop racing. The others have a lot of catching up to do.

More mechanical grip. Less aerodynamic grip. Ony been talking about it for a couple of decades.

Yup - remove stupid front wings (costs down) and rear (increasing overtaking opportunities). Downforce from smooth bodywork only.

Think of all the prime advertising space and revenue they'd lose though!
