I still think it looks really effeminate and girly without the quad-pod rally lights, chin spoiler and all the race decals but that should be happening now(ish)

We had a chat today. All is good. I'm heading down next Monday for what will probably be a final visit before getting it.

The weird thing about the "cash flow" is that it's all been paid up in dribs and drabs over the long period so it's a bit like getting a free car by this stage.

As a company they are doing good and aren't even taking new orders. It's a 3 year wait to even get to the point of paying a deposit.

I wish I'd had the foresight to pay up dribs and drabs for 3 years to get one of those at the end, it's a bit like playing the lottery and finding out you've won!

It's looking great, you must be like a kid waiting for xmas.

It's even better than that. I wish I'd ordered 2 of them. For some reason the Stratos replicas are a bit of a Goldilocks thing. There were only ever 500 original cars made (most reports suggest it was closer to 400) a big chunk of them went rallying and many never stayed in one piece. They were also a bit of a hard-sell at the time so weren't particularly cherished so the whole "replica / recreation" thing has a life of its own as it's really the only way to get into one short of paying £500k for a beaten up original. Obviously the value of things changes but at any point over the last couple of years I recon I could have sold my "unfinished project" to someone looking to jump the queue and got back what I'd paid to date plus make enough profit for a nice V6 Exige. Hindsight would have been wonderful. :blackeye
