Love it! All that effort just to make 60 cars is a shame. Should have mass produced it and brought the price point down below the £100k mark. At £112k it is getting quite expensive to buy a new Lotus.

That's £112.5k before you add any options. That is serious coin in anybodies book.
Then if you add the Sparco seats £3500, Forged Wheels £900, Harnesses and frame £4000 ,Air conditioning £1,500, 4 Speaker infotainment unit £2,000, Sub-woofer and amplifier £400, Sound insulation £500 and Cup holder £120. Add signature paint and that is another £1200.
So for a nice spec, some of which should really be standard fitment and your looking at £125K.
I really like the Evora and that one looks stunning but like I told Ian from MMC when he phoned at that price my money would be going elsewhere. That and there is no proven second hand market that tells you what sort of depreciation you would be looking at. I doubt they will be like Porche GT cars that gain rather than lose.

As a side note, it's not that quick off the line a 3.7sec(probably because of the gear change) but it's 0-100mph at less than 8 secs is mighty

That was what Ian said when he was on the phone, looking for one more to sell half the UK allocation as only 6 will stay at home.

Kinda like it but still too fussy. The Evora suited its modern, angular yet fluid lines of the "S1". Never got to liking the 400 version. Surely barnstorming performance though.

Some of the options are just trickery: They all come with forged wheels - its a change of colour only (gloss black or gloss red (!)) which costs £900. The standard seats are the carbon shelled buckets from the 410 (which are lovely) - the upgrade to the Sparco seats is.... I'm not sure if its for me as it looks a bit gowdy (and will certainly be heavier than the standard seats which is where Im sure Lotus took their all important dry-weight figures from!). Harness frame is nonsense.... certainly wouldn't look at that (but as I have my own harnesses from the 250 I think I will look around for a separate 400 harness bar).

I agree that ac should be standard - but its a well trodden path for Lotus to take it out (its no different a pricing structure to what they have always offered in Elise/ Exige and recently Evora 410.... In fact I think the only model to get it as standard is 400 (or maybe its an option there too?). I'm going to do some digging into the sound insulation as I need to understand what that actually is - and whether its a necessary option. Plenty of the 410's haven't had stereo/ satnav... but actually think that fitting it would give peace of mind for parking as it also comes with a reverse camera and rear visibility is going to be compromised!

I would never have guessed Tony, but congratulations, tin top aside I would be happy with one as my second car.

I am super delighted Tut.... really made up, and thank you. Both Graeme and Ian at Lotus helped to get my name on the board and I am thankful for that. Ive missed the V6 and hankered after one since I sold the Evora last year.... so this really is a wee dream come true. Losing the soft top from the 250 is made up for by getting into the V6 again

I've been watching the TLF thread- lots going on there.

Congrats on the purchase Anthony.

fwiw - I'm not 100% sold on the rear spoiler, but function wins over form for me. I also hoped to see an ExigeV6-esque exposed shift. But this is nitpicking - it looks epic and the spec of the car (weight loss in particular) is impressive. And since I am not in the market to purchase, I don't have to think too hard about whether the price is justifiable.

totally agree mate.... rear wing will hopefully grow on me.... Im not a huge fan, but guess its there for a reason and there is no denying that in isolation it is very well made. Likewise.... I had heard rumours of an exposed open gear-shift..... that would have been lovely too.
I reckon that the front end has gone back towards S1 and SR.... which is not bad thing as I wasn't a huge fan of 400. And the aero is like the best bits from the Exige/ Elise Cups.... all in all, its ticking all my boxes. I fully expect another special edition will be announced even before I take delivery of this one, but for me... this is pretty much right in the middle of everything I wanted from a V6 Lotus.

I feel very happy about it this morning - more so than any other Lotus Ive been lucky enough to order.

I just need to commit to a spec and colour next..... I reckon dark metallic colours are going to suit it nicely.
