Bluetooth Headphones - Noisy S1 French Frolic Use

Hi Folks,

Thinking about changing the wired in ear heaphones, which have seen better days, for a new spangly set of bluetooth in ear type.

Main requirement is a long battery life to cope with the circa 10 hour Frolic drives. Due to the S1 and its unique noise characteristics/features, it'd be handy if they have good passive noise reduction too with a nice & comfy snug fit.

Anyone have any makes/models they'd recommend?!

Ive got a set of Jaybird Freedom, previously had the X3 too before I lost them.

They have foam buds which hold them in well and mould to the shape of your ear well, very good at cancelling out background noise, about as good as foam ear plugs.
The battery lasts about 3 hours for me but it comes with a add on battery pack that acts as a charger which gives you another 3 hours use. Sound quality wise they are excellent and has its own app for tuning the sound to your taste, they are a lot better quality than the Bose wired ones I use for my laptop.

So I heard. Last time i used earplugs instead and just turned the stereo up.

This year I'm thinking they can f.r.o. and I'll just stick with headphones. If they're bluetooth I'll just claim I'm using them as earplugs and not listening to music if they catch me first etc...

Thought they were meant to last more like 8 hours though. Hmmmmm..... back to the drawing board maybe.

Just fit a k in it, I have no problems hearing the radio in mine ....job done.

Battery life is your enemy Dave, I've always come back to a wired solution.

Not cheap but these are the best for sound and comfort (even under helmet).

Agree with Ali on the acscustom ,great for ear protection and sound , i have an Avantree clipper bluetooth dongle attached ,lasts around 6 hours battery life
but can be plugged in and charged at the same time as listening if sitting driving for hours , hence best of both worlds.

Might just keep the shure 215 wired ones and investigate an Avantree type dongle setup.

So many Bluetooth ear buds advertising with 10-12 hour use but suspected that was a bit like car mpg claims!

Using the phone as satnav too and it can be a pain to be connected to it physically

I use a BT dongle in the mighty Golf because the MASSIVE cable to the stereo exits through the glove box. Doesn't last that long on batteries but you could plug it into the cig lighter and run your headphones into that so at least they weren't trailing to the phone. Having read this thread that's what I'm going to do in the Exige.

Have you looked at apple air pods. Overpriced for what they are but I use them for the gym and they are great with no wires getting in the way when running or on machines. Pop in your ear they link to the phone. 3 hours of use you get from 15 mins charge in the case and the case holds enough juice for about 24 hours use. I just recharge the wee case in the car on drive home from gym and works well. You can also make calls hand free etc. As I said bit overpriced, sound quality as per the usual standard apple pods but overall I find them useful.
