$60? When I followed the link I was sent they wanted to take $399 a year!
Maybe it varies depending on how many images you link to?
You'd have to think it's a very poor business decision.
I'd probably be willing to pay $1 a month or something to keep all the images I've hosted live.
No way I'd pay a lump sum that's in the tens of dollars never mind hundreds.
I suspect a lot of casual forum users will be in the same boat so we'll all start using a different hosting site.
In the meantime, a lot of previously very useful forum threads become a useless collection of broken image links.

I'm trying to download all my photos to move them elsewhere. You can only do it by folder, and it works about 1 time in E
every 20 attempts
If you use Chrome as you browser you can download
this official patch which makes photobucket linked images visible again in posts.

I guess it comes down to costs. I wonder how much of their business model was just going with the flow, and not really paying much attention to the trends. It must have been pretty obvious as people started picking up mobile phones with 2 mega pixel cameras, then 5, 7, 10, 15, 20mp... that the space required to run a photo hosting site was going to be rising rather quickly! i guess they also predicted that storage space and servers would continue to go down at the equivalent rate, and that hasn't happened.
It would be nice if they offered an easy way to download all of your photos, rather than basically randoming your photos, or expecting you to use their crap website to download them. I stopped using photobucket for most things for exactly this reason - it took too long to get logged in, find the right links among the myriad of adverts, wrestle with it to get a link directly to a photo.. especially as an infrequent user.
