2bular fitted......

well what can I say apart from wow what an exhaust!!

haven't used the elise as much as I should since I got it (3500 miles in 2 years) due to other commitments but since it was a keeper I didn't mind too much until earlier this year. I started the feel the car wasn't as enjoyable when going for a wee back road blast for an odd hour here and there.

Decided to roll the dice and order a 2bular. Spoke to Jim on the phone (to be fair to him it was a call for about an hour which was really enjoyable) and paid for exhaust to be shipped to Murrays and fitted by them. As soon as I got the car back on the road I knew it was a decision well made and fell instantly back in love with the car. As Jim put it 'the 2bular sounds like the car looks' and he isn't wrong.

Anyone considering one should just go for it, for the money you cant go wrong, very reasonably priced.

Question - what do you think I should do with the standard exhaust? if I keep it in the space above my garage it probably wont move until we do, is it worth money to anyone/could I expect to sell it on?

cheers, Chunk

Half hours labour for a back box, I think that's what Craig Moncrieff charged me when I put mine on.

Not hard apparently, some folks will swap standard exhaust for trackdays where noislimits prohibit the fruity exhausets.

Ferg - 1 hours labour charged so £120 well spent, no way I would attempt it.

Jim did say he could do it in 28 minutes though.........

Nice one Chunk :D

Was it the 6 or 7" option that you went for? I've gone for the 6" and looking forward to getting it fitted

Just noticed you have the 1.6 engine hence the choice of diameter, don't get that choice with the 220

Ferg This is the one I got http://www.2bular.co.uk/2zr-fe/elise-s- ... ust-system

Would be interested in any data on how it benefits the 1.6 engine output (if at all)...10-20 more torques and I'd consider a 1.6 one day...

The 2bular website suggests the 1.6 engine gains an extra 15bhp and 12ft/lbs for the exhaust + 4-1 manifold. Gains for just the exhaust will be minimal although it will sound faster! :thumbsup

Good spot. Sadly £1500 plus fitting probably means scouting out a late 1.8 134bhp like yours is the more intelligent choice, lol.

Interesting that they offer a version tuned for the Rotrex supercharger. Always though a charged 1.6 could be a nice mid-spot, but again presumably daft £££ to do it and better just to get the 1.8 version "from the factory"...

Not expecting any extra oomph from just the box to be honest but was just looking for a sportier note at the moment, will be getting the manifold and sports cat next though.

The standard exhaust is just way too refined!

Spotted a 1.6 Club Racer with Komotec S/C on autotrader, don't look at autotrader very often, no power output stated but seemed relatively cheap, was surprised to see this conversion even existed.

Edited and added
From Hangar111 who sell the kit
In a 1ZR-engined car (Elise 1.6, 2011 on), it delivers approx 195bhp and 159lb/ft.
In a 1ZZ-engined car (Elise S), it delivers approx 215bhp and 182lb/ft.
In a 2ZZ-engined car (111R, Exige), it delivers approx 260bhp and 184lb/ft of torque

£6K from Hangar111 new or almost £0 to buy on a car already fitted with it
