I recently heard from a reliable source that the seat issue is as a result of Gailes' "weight saving" (actually cost cutting) programme. In PSA saving a few pennies here and there on a car will add up to big savings due to the volumes of cars produced. At lotus, saving a few pennies here and there will make little differnce to the bottom line, but will leave customers hacked off.

And actual losses due to warranty charges via dealers.

“The Exige is the Lotus. Full stop. :thumbsup

I am not sure that the guys who have had clutch problems will agree with the below statement.

“Bang them home as hard as you want; after all, Lotus’s advice was “not to be gentle with the gearbox; if you want a gear, get the gear”.”

The extra width of the V6 Exige is so much more planted, especially in the wet ...
... The engine note in the V6 is awesome and will bring a few smiles to enhance the driving experience.
The SC Elise is a brilliant car and probably the sweet spot of the range, but I preferred the V6 after my test drive of them both ...
Looking forward to hearing your own views and probably a good time to go test driving now and then pick up a good deal at the end of autumn.
Thank you for the write up Steve, really useful info especially knowing the sheer number of miles you have done ! Next summer is my target date.

Before you buy an Elise Cup check the seat - my one moved and creaked continuously and was a total pain.
Thanks Tony. My Exige S2 was back at MMC 12 times IIRC in a year due to MIL light, ECU was swamped out under warranty in the end. I am prepared for some ownership pains again.

Not a bad video, definitely useful. Too much talking about the track though , not enough about the car comparison IMO.
