Collision Damage Waiver Insurance
Picking up a hire car soon for a weekend down in Devon. The roads down there are mad with loads of hedgerows, narrow lanes and possibly a recipe for a disaster without adequate insurance.
I probably rent a car/van approx 6-8 times a year, sometime for longer durations and was thinking of getting an annual policy so I do not have to worry about increasing my rental charge with the individual companies.
Just wondering whether anyone has any recommendations.

I've used insurance4carhire for years, covers the excess, burst tyres, broken windows etc. As many rentals as you want up to 30days per rental. £40-£50 per year dependent upon Europe or world wide coverage.

How are they at claims, Kerry?

I've never had a claim, but as usual there are a mixed bag of online comments. For me there are enough positive reviews to suggest they'll payout if you follow the claims process correctly. There are always negative comments from those motivated to post.

Fair enough.

I've used this lot in the past - https://www.questor-insurance.co.uk/car ... rance.aspx
Never had to claim though so can't comment on that. They do either excess cover or if you pay a bit more they'll cover the whole car up to £50k

Ended up going with icarhireinsurance.TophaTron wrote:Bit late to this but I use:

Picked up my rental car on Friday and had to return it with a nice big bump when I came back on Sunday. Parked in Exeter on Friday night and some lovely cretin decided to use my Avis Vitara as a bump-n-bowl. Lovely big indentation and scrape in the bumper of the car when I returned.
Dropped it off at Avis last night and the cost of the damage was accessed at £652, so will report back to see how I get on with the claim process.
