Given the reviews of the Exige 380 Sport and then the Evora 430GT.... this is going to be absolutely totally wild. Crazy.
If only they could find a way of shoe-horning the Evora dash into the slightly aging Exige interior then that would be almost perfection for me.

Looks mental, price tag to match.

Would put me off buying a new lotus with the frequency and amount of new special editions they do, I’m all for development and improvement but comes a point they are taking the piss.

Yup - if I was a 380 Cup owner I would be absolutely furious around about now. More power - not a limited run - all the same aero and major parts from the 380.

Although, lets be honest - as soon as I take delivery of my 430GT they will come out with a new and improved Evora... :roll:

Yeah but wasn't the 380 Cup much cheaper? Whether they would have preferred to hold out and pay an extra £20k for the 430 Cup is another question.. I'm sure I would still be very happy with my 380 Cup and £20k saving.. If they were the same price etc. then I could understand the ire, but that's just the risk you take buying from a small manufacturer with a strong history of regular incremental model upgrades / releases..

Maybe I'd be more miffed if I bought a 3-11, as its says the 430 Cup is faster around Hethel :lol:

Maybe not so much of a factor at purchase.... but what has this new model done to resale values of the "much cheaper" - but utterly exclusive 60 examples worldwide 380 Cup?

Arguably - on the second hand market the 430 will be more desirable - and as a standard run and not limited - this will surely punish future values of the 380.

Well I guess if you'd bought a Cup 380 thinking its would have 911 GT3 RS level of residuals as "the top model" then you'll be pretty disappointed.

I think there are so few already (60 examples - its still very exclusive, just not the most extreme variant) there will be little effect on their values..

Yep and didn't see any notable difference to used Exige S or 350 prices when the 380 arrived.........

The fact the price for newer models keeps going up is a good thing existing owners. :thumbsup

I know Lotus come in for a lot of stick for this but they sell a small run of fairly exclusive cars and then make a fresh batch of slightly more powerful cars in small numbers. The real world difference is probably negligeable between the models so other than bragging rights you probably don’t end up really loosing out and you potentially save a few quid by getting the earlier model too. :thumbsup
The thing that would annoy me is that the are progressively more expensive & out of reach barring a Lottery win :roll:
Until a completely new model comes along we just need to keep counting up in both BHP & £

Lotus said along time ago that an Evora convertible wasn't possible but know body listened.
Really glad I never bought a Cup 380, would have been gutted with this coming out. I know the talk all about the rarity but at the end of the day it's about the performance and now it's second, possibly 3rd best. You don't get that with Porsche, who's model they seem to loosely following.

Unless you are tracking the car they all have more power than you can realistically use on the road, so a lot of the time the pissed off aspect when they upgrade your new pride and joy is in your mind and not in reality.

Each time I go out for a run I tell myself I must take a run up through the box from 2nd to 8,600 but I never do.
Road holding is always the limiting factor and there is more than enough power in 6th to cope with that.
