Real shame, I seen it being dragged away onto the tow truck the otherday when I was at CMC. I thought that looks like Campbell's car but thought nah can't be. Didn't even think to ask Craig who it belonged to at the time other than "does it not have a toe hook?" as it was being dragged by its wheels.

A great story except the unhappy ending. Well you have the memories. Main thing is that you are safe and here for your wife and children. What about ticking the Elan turbo box now, far cheaper than any Elise .

That did cause some sleepless nights. Lisa played it down but I think she got a real fright.

It says a lot about Elise design strength that I walked away with no more than whiplash. The average hatchback would have been cubed.

I've lost a bit of driving mojo. Hopefully it'll come back but driving a Skoda or TT for a while might be no bad thing.
I know what you mean about the strength of the Elise, I was amazed at how my S1 stood up to a side on impact when I was travelling at a wee bit over the max speed limit. Both clams were minced, front and rear suspension burst but I had only bruising on my shoulders and knees from hitting the barrier nose first at 80 tuts, makes me feel quite safe in my current S1.
I also know what you mean about Mojo, I've gone a bit quite on road runs etc as you never know what's going to happen next. Prefer to save my excitement for the track now.

Hope to see you back in a new toy in the not to distant future.

Cheers

Graham

Sorry to hear about the car!

The first insurance offer for my S2 was almost 40% less than the final amount.

Well, it might nudge me back into an Evora some day. Every cloud and all that.

Would you choose an Evora over an S1 for your next Lotus?

Would take a huge leap of faith to take on someone else's S1, Steve.

So probably better to treat this as an opportunity to try something else. An S2 maybe. Or Exige (4 cyl only!). And yes maybe even another Evora. Best car I've ever had.

The settlement wasn't good enough to buy another good-enough S1. So going to try to take a year off to save us a few pennies. UJI was good, but high maintenance :-/
