Edinburgh Restaurant - looking for something different

Post by Mr Momo » Tue Jan 02, 2018 10:36 pm

Mrs Momo and I are staying in Edinburgh on Friday eve. We're looking for somewhere both tasty and a bit more lively.

We're staying in on the High Street, so somewhere central would be good.

Any tips gratefully accepted !

I can recommend Divino, superb Italian and the wine Tasting is a great experience; their sommelier is excellent, really knowledgable and entertaining. If you like wine and want it to be, it can be a great night out or alternatively a quiet high quality meal if you’d prefer, also, not far from High Street:

Gaucho (Argentinian steak) is really good - not cheap - expect £200 a couple

It's not ideally located for where you're staying, but we love Tapa in Leith, just off the Shore - http://www.tapaedinburgh.co.uk/category/blog/
Food and wine are excellent, and they have a guitarist playing on Friday and Saturday nights.

Ended up going to Cafe St Honore on Thistle St. on the request of Mrs Momo. The food was great. Felt like we were in Paris.

We stayed at the G&V at the top of the Mound. Relaxed and great location.

Edinburgh was baltic and as busy as Blackpool in the city centre...🙈
