Isn't it ironic that the very thread about lack of traffic has created the most traffic for ages :damnfunny

It appears that I may have caused a little offence in instigating what I hoped to be a positive discussion. Apologies if I have offended anyone. Always happy to have a blether if peeps are getting hacked off with things. :thumbsup

As I have said nothing lasts for ever and it was a pity that TT reached the end of its span in 2012 as that always used to bring a lot of us together every two years.

We had six of them in total and by the end had up to 100 cars and 150 drivers/pax together for the weekend so is where many of us actually met up and got together. The other was KH where we also met new members and had a good chin wag, and then road runs which we used to do a lot more of.

I am confident that the Forum will continue to flourish, it serves a completely different role than WA so the two can happily run in parallel.

Love this forum and the principles it holds dear. It still surpasses every other in its openness and inclusive nature.

WA has taken some of the chat traffic away. But that’s groups of friends rather than forums. Some groups of friends who often communicated via the forum do so via messaging now. It makes it look quieter as a community if your not in those.

I like the suggestion of Slack. It’s very good and you can have public and private chats. But whatever messaging medium used it would have to integrate seemleasly and I don’t think that’s something I’ve ever seen done well.

The recent board update has brought some much needed refresh to functionality. It’s made it easy to use. Great work by Simon.

I suppose there is evolution needed to achieve the community feel we want, but as Social media tools vi for our traffic I’m not sure the tech is out there to bring the threads together.

I’ve been on SE over 10 years now, and still check it regularly. Until the next comminity tool revolution happens, it still works fine. 😎
