Royal deeside speed festival
Re: Royal deeside speed festival
I enjoyed it last year. If it goes ahead, and there is an SE stand, I'd be up for displaying again.
Actually, not sure I can do 16 June though..

I’d go but the date revision has me stuffed due to clashes with other cycle race plans.

Re: Royal deeside speed festival
From Facebook this morning
It is with deep regret and sadness that the we announce that the Royal Deeside Speed Festival scheduled for 16th June 2018 has been cancelled.
As many of you will know we have had a number of difficulties in organising the Event this year and many factors out with our control have combined to make it impossible for us to deliver the event to the standard which we want to, and so we have decided it better to cancel rather than run an event which falls below our high expectations.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who has shown us their support over the past few years and for everybody who has attended RDSF either as a spectator, trader, caterer, exhibitor, car club, soapbox team or hillclimb entrant; and we apologise for the disruption and inconvenience that our decision may cause.
To anyone that has already paid an entry fee, we will be in touch regarding a full refund.
We intend to spend some time over the next few months assessing the viability to hold an event in 2019 and beyond and we will update the website and Facebook page from time to time as our assessment progresses.
In the meantime, we will be continuing with our Coffee, Cakes and Cars meets at Potarch every month along with regular Driver's Days. We also appreciate your support with these meets and hope to continue to see you there.

Seems my source was accurate.
Real shame, whatever the cause.

Sad indeed.
Told James this afternoon.
Anyone want an unfinished Soapbox project?!
(Last year's part dismantled chassis...thankfully we hadn't even got this year's design on the drawing board...!)

That’s a real shame.
Re: Royal deeside speed festival
It’s a massive headache organising anything these days, they should be proud of their past events and hopefully, they’ll have a go again next year.

All is not lost Campbell. You could still enter the Crathes Castle Soap Box Derby on 8th September.
