USB LAN with POE (far to many acronyms)

Hi All, I have a small project where I want to connect some cheap windows tablets to a network. Due to the location, I want to avoid using wifi at all costs so I came across some USB to LAN adapters that way I could connect it to the network using the USB port on the device, the only problem then is I can't charge it and connect it at the same time
Next thought was could I use POE (power over ethernet) to charge the devices. I have tried looking for an off the shelf solution but can't find anything. Does anyone know where I can find such a thing?
Failing that I could buy a cheap USB to LAN and a 48v to 5v Dc-DC converter and whip out the soldering iron send power from the DC-DC converter to the device to charge it and work the USB to LAN converter. That being said I don't want to fry any of the components as in truth I don't really know what I am doing.
The aim is to run a single cable from the POE switch to each device saving on clutter. something off the shelf is the prefered option.
