New seats

Post by EliseS1_Willy_G » Thu Jun 14, 2018 7:13 pm

been lurking on this forum for a while, but this is my first post,so please be gentle!!

I have been thinking about changing the seats in my s1 to give me a bit more support and comfort. I have been looking at the corbeau le pro or le-x seats and wondered whether any of you had fitted these to an elise and were local (Glasgow) to allow me to have a look/seat. Else does anyone have any recommendations as to which ones are best ?

cheers G

My S1 has Corbeau seats (LE I think) as per original Sport 135 spec. I put new inserts from Corbeau in them a few years ago so they are still quite fresh. Car is currently in Ken Browns at Hillington, but will hopefully have it back soon, so you would be welcome to try the seats when I get it back.

Newer versions of the Elise have more padded seats than earlier cars so you might still be able to get a standard seat that’s more comfortable.

Yup. Look out on eBay and SELOC Classifieds as better seats can come up from newer Elises and Exiges when their owners look to upgrade

And welcome. Head over to Newbies and post up a bit about your car

thanks for the warm welcome.

have been looking on Seloc. Seats don't hang around long hence the thought about buying new.

Dominic thanks for the offer of trying your seats when you get your car back. much appreciated.

I am also looking for more side support hence the interest in the le_x seat, but I am a bit nervous as there seems to be a lot of chat on Seloc about how tight these seats are.

Take SELOC chat with a pinch of salt

Don't rule out getting your own seats recovered with a bit more padding.

If you want proper support, you can go for Tillett seats which are fantastic, however not for everyone as they can have either minimal or no padding.

I'd have them in a heartbeat in an S1 but then I loved mine in my Caterham :cheers

I looked at the tillet seats but was put off by the lack of padding and price. I was looking at the b5 model. Are they comfortable on a long run?
