Tyre Fitting In Aberdeen

Post by C7Steve » Tue Jul 03, 2018 6:43 pm

Away to get my new Frolic tyres fitted soon and was wondering where you guys have used in the past that you would recommend?

I have used Tawse tyres in Inverurie the last couple of times.

James Hall mentioned somewhere else and I will ask him where they were.

Hi Steve
I just asked the same thing in the frolic thread... I have used norman at tyre devotion before for my old car and plenty of people use motorwerks on forest avenue lane (not sure if any lotus, though)

For my Spa trip I used Black circles and their mobile tyre fitter. The guy was first class, did all four tyres in my drive in less than an hour one Saturday morning 👍

Did you have to buy the tyres from them to use this service?

I did buy them from black circles but Sean will fit your own tyres if you prefer. His mobile is 07739714616.
He was very good, I asked him to balance wheels to fine tolerance as I’d be doing over 140 mph at Spa. He did a great job.

I've just bought tyres for the 12c from black circles, fitted by I&K in Inverurie (at the service centre next to Morrisons. Mine were going on a spare set of wheels, so I just dropped them off, but otherwise they book you a slot. Obviously not there core business, but they took real care to get them right. Black circles were by far the cheapest for the Michelin PS4S I was after.

I don't think Tawse will fit tyres you haven't bought from them any more.

I've used Motorwerks and Tyre Devotion in the past too and they were both fine.

https://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk are also usually well priced.

Tyre Devotion for any car you care about. Black Circles and a random local fitter for the sheds.

(There's a rather beautiful Subaru on the Tyre Devotion website. http://tyredevotion.co.uk/ Whoever owns that has lovely taste! :D :D)

I have used Tawse tyres to fit tyres bought elsewhere and there was no problem. I did just rock up and drive in to the work area, but it may be a different scenario if arranging through their office.

Tawse fit used tyres you supply but not new ones. They did match an online price for 911 tyres when I asked them to quote, so can offer a good price if you ask. Motorwerks are fine although the access is not suitable for the 12c. Tyre devotion couldn't supply the tyres I was after last time and wouldn't fit them if I sourced them so I gave up on that option.

I just ordered mobile tyre fitting through black circles - first available morning was next Tuesday for fitting. Switched over to Michelins.

Cheers

Just had this guy round. Would have no hesitation in using again. Care was taken to ensure correct jack point (blue sticker) and cloth used to ensure it didn’t hit the body. Checked what tyre pressures I wanted and torqued wheels properly.

Found out that my wheels are not completely round though so I probably need a new wheel unless it can be repaired.
