Knockhill - World Of Supercars this Sunday (12th Aug)
Knockhill - World Of Supercars this Sunday (12th Aug)
Looks like an interesting event. Anyone heading up to this?
I'll be the pretender in the silver Maserati (static only, not booked on track) looking nervous and out of place

If I'm still home I may pop down for it, Cerb needs a wee leg stretch

I'm going in the Porsche. Will be the only one with a ScottishElises decal on it I bet
Not that I expect there will be many 968's.
I only registered online end of last week and never received any registration confirmation email, ticket or entrance pass email.
But I did get a 1 week to go email, here is the paddock layout etc etc email yesterday so they must have my details.
Is it the same for you or should I have received something else ?

I only registered a week or so ago too, but I got a letter / ticket in the post (I didn't purchase any additional tickets, just the free registration), not actually sure what it says, I'll have a proper look tonight.
I got an email saying I'd get the paddock layout emailed to me today, but haven't had it yet.

Ok, the letter was a ticket (display +1) and a KH event schedule.
I'm a solo displayer, not in a club, so I wonder if you being with the Porsche club will have made a difference with the 70 year thing.
Looking forward to seeing that 968 as a big 944 fan, and erm the 968 CS is the ultimate version of the 944 (no offence meant!!)

So if you're showing your car, are you stuck there the whole day?

Re: Knockhill - World Of Supercars this Sunday (12th Aug)
Pretty much. Seems to be the way with shows like this, I guess they don't want folk leaving in the middle of a big crowd, or people paying to enter and half the show leaving midday.
All in all, not the best when you're socially incompetent like me
I guess if you're taking to the track then it breaks it up a bit, but even at that, 3x 20 minute sessions, unless you can plan it with 3 mates and have 1 in each session so you can passenger... I'm not yet tracking the Lotus again never mind the Maser so that's out for me too. Not sure I fancy flinging 1.6 tons around a track anyway.
The TartanTarmac (and other) breakfast meet formats are good for not being like that. Turn up, grab a bacon roll, have a chat, leave. Plus they tend to break up around lunch anyway.
At least it's not 2 days like Glamis was!!

Ahhhhh now it seems I've had a brainfart. Is it only on the Sunday? I seemed to think Saturday too......I'm going offshore Sunday so wouldn't manage that day
Re: Knockhill - World Of Supercars this Sunday (12th Aug)
Yep, Sunday. Glad I've been able to save you a pointless return trip along the M90

Would have enjoyed this but away glamping with the family. Hope it goes well for you!

Re: Knockhill - World Of Supercars this Sunday (12th Aug)
Still no tickets but emailed Knockhill and I'm on the list.
Never thought about having to stay there all day
And forecast isn't great, it will feel even worse being Knockhill, I'll be chucking the outdoor winter gear in the car

Wet very wet. Will post my few phone pics later via Tapatalk.
Craig was out on his red V6 Exige.
Best thing was as an exhibitor free coffee and biscuits in the drivers lounge all day so spent a lot of the day in there dripping and drinking coffee
