Definitely one to consider for next year
Outer Hebz def lovely and would be memorable in a Lotus but not for the driving dynamics, only the scenery.

I also wouldn't Tent it (winds) so camper or cottage required I reckon.

Some great ideas above.

How about a workshop visit of Leven Lotus, or a specialist place - when I organised events for the L7C I had one at Dreadnought (admittedly more Caterham biased) and years ago had one at Classic Restorations in Alyth which was truly fantastic to see, amazing workmanship. I also had a meet planned at the place in Inverkeilor but it fell through.

Plenty places of interest of this ilk all over the country, just a case of someone being sufficiently chummy to get a wee tour at the weekend :thumbsup

Love the ideas above, and not much else to add.

There was a meet at Crathes Castle suggested a while back which I thought would be a great idea. Nice place for displaying the cars, and a great cafe/play area for the families. My girls love it there. Maybe turn it into a series of meets at various interesting NTS places? Lots of marques do that up this way. Drum castle already host Jaguar and MG meets, and we could do something similar. A nice variation on the usual Sunday meets in a coffeeshop car park.

I'm feeling the urge for some Sat-Sun trips that don't interfere with monday-friday life, with an overnight stop in a hotel/B&B somewhere on the Saturday night. A sort of softer addition to the Campagasm schedule without all the packing and planning. Just chuck some clothes, toothbrush and wallet in a bag, book a few rooms somewhere remote, drive there on Saturday, drive home on Sunday. Don't plan too much. Fish n chips. A few beers in the bar on Saturday night. The less planning and timetabling, the better. I'll probably propose a few of these in 2019. Maybe Kylesku hotel, and one somewhere on Skye, and maybe a raid over the wall to Northumberland?

Would a shared calendar for events, meets etc be useful?

I see there are some calendar extensions for phpBB, but none particularly enticing, and I'd rather not burden our esteemed sysadmin with all that jazz.

Maybe a Google Calendar, linked from a sticky post in the meets section?

I wouldn't mind maintaining one and sharing it.

More thinking out loud - is there a similar SE-esque group in the north of England?

We used to meet with the NESe7eners at Peebles and have a "Borders Blat" around Keilder Forest way - some spectacular roads around there, and always good to have a chinwag and kick tyres with our friends from over the border - I do recall Stu Pollock chasing me in the S160 - that must have been 2004/2005  - good times 8)

That sounds very appealing, and would suit us well. :thumbsup

Yep liking your thinking G. And places with pods or similar can be great value. Only need a sleeping bag, thermarest and beer!

Think we did have a calendar once.

All you need is a publishable one, think Google may be a good shout.

Does anyone have login details for that account? I'm happy to take over the admin of it.

Just noticed that on my google calendar I have "Scottish Elises", the owner of that being "scottishelises@googlemail.com". Looks like it doesn't allow me to add an event.

Will await news from Mass. Otherwise - how hard can it be to set up a new one??

Campaganza option in Scottish Borders - no beach but just about as wild as Clachtoll and Camusdarach, if not moreso...have a read!

My brother has been and highly recommends it.

(The Thunderbox composting toilets are an interesting concept, mind you...)
