VAG Diesel Gate

Post by rawsco » Fri Aug 31, 2018 5:00 pm

Im keeping an eye on this and find it hard to wade through the lawyers begging for your enquiry / to represent you no win no fee...

I was wondering what the current situation WRT to the compensation claims might be. We owned an affected A1 for a few years and took a bit of a hit on resale value as we punted it during all the carry on.

Would be interested to know too, although I'd never really thought about compensation.

We bought an Octavia vRS brand new in 2011, still have it but stupidly agreed to let the dealer re-map it a couple of years ago.

Since then the economy has dropped from an average 45mpg to about 42mpg and it's just not as quick.
I suspect the power is still there it just feels like it's further up the rev range which is not what you want in a diesel.
Not happy. It's not bad and if you'd never driven it pre-'fix' then you wouldn't complain but it's not the same car.

I won't buy another VAG diesel.
