Shape a future sports car

Post by jamie » Wed Nov 14, 2018 10:57 am

Hello All,
Looking for some feedback/input
Got a mate who’s an engineer about to start work on an EV sports car. He’s looking to get a view from those with a Lotus or other sports car on the following

1. How many miles do you drive per year
2. What is the approx distribution of usage between urban/country/motorway by %
3. Where do you store/park the car
4. How many miles : laps of track days do you do

Thanks

4. Varies wildly year to year, maybe 200, sometimes zero, sometimes more

Hope that helps!

I know, quite embarrassing, Just looked back at the old MOT's and I was a little bit out under the last 4 years (500 miles average, not 400):
2013: 8601 miles
2014: 12,174 miles (Included trip back from Swindon in 2013 after picking up the car)
2015: 12,881 miles
2016: 13,236 miles
2017: 13,803 miles
2018: 14,099 miles

Now if you want really bad annual mileage then the 748 takes the accolade:
2006: 8932
2007: 9242
2008: 9896
2009: 10,432
2010: 10992
2011: 53 (Replacement speedo just after MOT)
2012: 159
2013: 415
2014: 431
2015: 544
2016: 580
2017: SORN
2018: 616

That really is a trip to the MOT station and back for me.
