Alpine looks better in the flesh than photos.

Wildcard entry , BBR MX5 with 300 bhp, nobody would see you coming, or leaving .

Don't know about the mag ride as mine had fixed dampeners same as the GT.

Plus with S-tronic

Cheapest

Already dropped the price once, might get it fo 60.
Buy an extended warranty for peace of mind.

Really wildcard entry: MX5 with a crate LS3 525!

If I fitted in a MX5, I'd be ordering the kit for this:

I'd prefer V8Roadsters V6 LFX kit - a solid ~350bhp from a very modern engine that weighs the same as the OEM 4-pot. Remains a sports car rather than a lunatic hot rod :D

Other left field choice - Megane RS

You may baulk at a FWD Renault (I did initially before driving one), but they are very capable cars with an awesome chassis. I run one as a daily, and I don't think my SC VX would see which way it went on our roads..

The Trophy-R is the GT3 of that generation of hot hatches:

The Meg does look interesting and that one is hardcore enough to be special. I do much prefer the RWD tho although I had a Mini Cooper S years ago with an LSD and it was a proper hoot!

Well, try as I might, I've not been able to create any understeer in the Meg (on the road - lift-off oversteer in very much on the menu), although I'm with you on the RWD. That's the good thing about the Lego Elise - I can have a decent supercharged one of those and the tweaked Meg for the less than an early S2 Exige-S. Bangernomics.. :P

Is an Alfa 4C an option?

I think if considering a 4C genre, the Alpine is the far more accomplished car :thumbsup
