Who had the more enjoyable drive when you got to Oulton, though..?
I guess an Exige has similar levels of involvement / character as the 211, but also has an acceptable usability window (not the same as an M6, of course).
I personnally think the OP should buy another V6, and allocate some cash for resolution of 'issues'.. And maybe a tweak or two..

The idea is a lot better than the reality - and if you thought Lotus were hard to deal with.......... atrocious

My personal experience doesn't concur with this...

Hardcore cars are more fun, but less often. The decision should definitely start with how often you want to use it. 10 sunny weekends a year? Daily? One epic trip?

The 2-11 is another level in terms of involvement compared to a V6 Exige. Faster over a lap too unless considering the very high end 400+ Exiges but they are a different price point. On track the 2-11 was comparable to the 911 GT3 (in the dry at least!) while running costs are a fraction of either 911 or Exige. Did I mention I have one for sale?Andy G wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 6:23 pmMe - it rained and the GT3 simply drove away from everythingRosssco wrote: ↑Mon Dec 03, 2018 5:24 pm

My point is that a V6 Exige is far closer in terms of involvement to a 2-11 (the ~400kg weight difference would play a part!), than a Porsche.

Andy's driven more pork than me but from my experience the GT3 products are more involving than a V6 Exige...very different money of course so they should be good!
I loved driving Baz's 991 GT3RS, it was properly challenging and immense fun.

Sure the 430 Cup moves things on again but you wouldn't find me spending £120k on an Exige.
Still think the Carrera T Litchfield once the base car used prices are closer to £60k (with 992 launching now that wont be as long as you'd imagine) could be a no brainer. - and Litchfield supply the warranty . Their outfit is epic, Ian himself was working on his own Ring GTR (which was 100% nuts!) and they are fully behind supporting and building their rep.
Their Alpine got driven by PH the other day also.
Toying with giving Mrs G the Rangie and buying one once her daily goes back later in the year.

Re: All roads lead to Lotus... or do they?
So borrowed the current 991 Carrera S Manual (7 speed - have to keep reminding myself to change up from 6th!).
Its epic. Love it. Weather was brutal down here tonight, and it was effortless in the Porker. Was amazed how much I liked it in truth, having been massively underwhelmed by the Carrera product in the past. Engine is fantastic, albeit turbo - but what a turn of pace! Loving having the third pedal also, gearshift is really positive.
Only thing I dont like is the auto-blip.
Might not be hot enough for the track, but if thats very much a secondary consideration and budget allows - its some car. Thinking of even using it with the family at the weekend - it managed football training in its stride tonight - even got some nice comments
Thinking my Litchfield T plan is looking better and better (oh and heard a few have changed hands in the trade for sub £60k now!). Could be the ultimate Euro trip car

Just to try and sway away from "zee Germanz" I have to say that I would be seriously tempted to this if I hadn't bought my V6...

Got the right suspension on it plus the Cup rarity should mean strong residuals. I get that not everybody will like the red wheels but for me on this car it works. My only question would be why has it not got the original tailgate fitted as to me the one that came on the cup 360 is the nicest one so far.

To me that's the heart of the problem.
When i saw a £121k price on an Exige the last time i was at Leven i was stunned.
You could get a decent spec 911 and have £30k left over - OK it wouldn't look as unusual (or be as good a drive), but really?
Now with half an engine
