Gatwick Drone Chaos
Anyone else detect something a bit odd about this?

Re: Gatwick Drone Chaos
It does seem a bit bizarre that it’s taking so long. The Germans are also on alert after suspicious activity around Stuttgart airport.

If you were that motivated, why would you limit your malice to Gatwick.

Any other country would be shooting them down at first sight. Weapons hot as of this morning I hear.
Re: Gatwick Drone Chaos
There was a chap on BBC Breakfast this morning very enthused about options for drone denial, mainly as he worked for the company that sold the tech.. Christmas has came early for them!

Re: Gatwick Drone Chaos
This should be a military matter.
The "authorities" should stop dicking about with the Police and put the experts on. Might put the fear up whoever the perps are.
This is less about the "tragedy" of stranded pax (distressing as that can be for children and the infirm), and more about a show of strength to discourage future wheezes like this.
Our govt is suitably distracted with another initiative. Clever time to strike...

Re: Gatwick Drone Chaos
In all seriousness, you'd think such matters could be classed as breach of security and therefore the drones could be intercepted or simply shot down - but then perhaps the laws aren't strict enough?

Agree with you there. Anybody with a major gripe against many things looking to gain publicity now thinks buy a drone and dick about for a few hours.campbell wrote: ↑Fri Dec 21, 2018 11:36 pmThis should be a military matter.

People sometime somewhere continue to come up with novel ideas and ways of disrupting life’s in simple or tragic ways, it is all about how you react and clamp down on it that matters.
So surely that is military support / expertise.

Couple of people arrested. Allegedly.
But Santa and Rudolf claim they were only trying to make drone deliveries of presents in the Crawley area and didn't mean to cause alarm
