Long shot - car to Craig at CMC

Post by jimbo » Fri Mar 01, 2019 1:43 pm

Pretty typical, picked up my S1 from Craig on Monday (just a quick 1 day job while down for a meeting) then get back to Aberdeen and alternator decides it's time to checkout. Can't feasibly drive it back down as certainly won't make it. Anyone heading that way anytime who has a trailer? Total long shot I know.

Cheers

Long way to go just for an alternator change? I use these guys who are local to you for everything for my s2 including a recent engine rebuild, and is currently in for oil cooler upgrade and sensor instalment. They can pick your car up from your house.

Thanks for the info. Guess my reasoning for using Craig is he's done everything else for years now, but realistically it was going to be a mare getting down this time, cheers

I think he may have an arrangement with a recovery guy. Give him a call.

Ah, that's good to hear an endorsement, Mike. I've used CGE once a while ago for tyre fitting (via black circles I think) and would definitely go back again for other stuff. The tyres arrived squashed out of round, obviously stored improperly, and took literally hours and hours to get sealed against the rims. Total PITA of a job. Chrissy wouldn't give up, so saved me the hassle of sending them back for replacement. They were 100% perfect when he was done fettling. Loved his helpfulness and determination. :thumbsup

He is actually a subsea engineer and started up his garage so he could get out of the industry. Good hand and very conscientious, will go the extra yard to make sure it's right. Not much Lotus experience but he'll figure it out.
For anyone needing servicing work on daily sheds certainly give him a shout.
