Bodyshop Recommendations

So, I was doing the good son thing for mother's day.
Took flowers and a card to the old dear and she repays me by driving into Elise and cracking the front clam :x
Thankfully, the damage is minor, but there is a definite 3 inch crack. Raging.

I've used Willowbrae in the past, but been hearing some mixed stories about them. So, has anybody got any other recommendations in or near Edinburgh? (Prefer to avoid insurance if possible).

I think Campbell used Steve Walker's in Bathgate for his Evora with good results.

Just to throw a wildcard into the mix . I was out for a walk when came across a guy repairing a 211 clam , got talking and he has also repaired an exige . He learned his trade working on truck bumpers etc. And has started up on his own , working out of Cultubraggen camp in a Nissan hut, (old world war 2 pow camp )near Comrie.
After a little chat seemed keen and switched on , may be eorth checking out , his name was Jack McDougal (car body repairs ) , Facebook page only ,I think. May be worth a look .

Cheers guys.
Between here and the book of face, I've now got 4 places to try.
It could be a nice opportunity to get the whole front clam smartened up a bit (and get mum to cover half the cost)

If you are going to visit Steve Walker, may as well try Protek who are in the same industrial estate.

Someone on here had a full respray of his Europa and always said good words about Protek.

Saj.

Yep. They did a great job I think. And Saj is very discerning :-)

Cheers. I've been in touch with Protek - their work looks very impressive. Slightly more expensive than Steve Walker, but they will do a full clam-off refurbishment and re-coat the grills.

Cheers Graeme I'll ping you my email.
Looking at some of the work on their website (there's a couple of familiar looking cars there), they look like a pretty capable outfit.
That's me booked in :thumbsup

Protek for me, been using them for more than 20 years. Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Big thanks to everyone who recommended Protek. Very professional outfit. They really go the distance to get your pride and joy looking as good as possible.
For a 12 year old car, she's looking pretty bloody brilliant :thumbsup

There was a 4 inch crack here slightly right and below the Lotus badge.

The bottom of the clam was pretty badly scratched, with a couple of holes courtesy of Edinburgh's speed bumps.
