Just made a thread about my racing career in Motorsport subforum if anyone is interested in reading about my journey or fancies sponsoring me!

Great write up Jen.
Looking forward to watching you racing sometime.
At the last count, there were 1382 SE members. I'm sure, if everyone chipped in a couple of quid, it'd make a big dent in your sponsorship budget

Great idea Duggie. SE crowd funding.

Hope you had a great day yesterday Jen
My original post was a bit tongue in cheek, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense.
Go Fund Me looks like the most popular way to raise funds

I'm sure there would be a few people on here who would be willing to chip in a few quid to help you on your way. I might have a spare SE sticker kicking about somewhere too, so we could get a bit of advertising
Good luck

Duggie

There are a lot of members that aren’t active so numbers will be less but I reckon those that are active would happily stump up a few quid to see our very own tame racing driver do well. Go Jen

Well done, it’s hard and a real eye opener, it’s clubman racing but the quick drivers are properly quick!
You will never look at trackdays the same way!
Good luck for the rest of the season

Nice write up, really enjoyable read. Hopefully the weather improves for next time, though I guess it's just a different experience either way!

Thanks guys! It really was intense! I play the trumpet professionally so I’m no stranger to putting myself out there and perform under pressure but the feelings I felt while sitting in the car were totally alien to me! Good to get it started though and Iv put down a base, now I can work on it and build on it.

Hamish Smart drove me to the airport tonight! Small world. And a lovely guy. A great mentor for you (in fact I think he’s a driver coach? ... put some of your sponsorship money towards that if you possibly can).
When’s your next race?

Awww, Hamish is a legend!! I love him! He’s a great mentor, but he’s a busy, busy guy! Trying to tie him down is difficult, but we have already spoken about coaching and stuff. Just need to find the time to do it together.

he was one of the first people I spoke to about racing Fiestas last July and he was a massive support for me at my first race weekend. Legend!
