I can't see past this beauty at the moment:
https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds ... 00/9558960
I miss that lumpy idle so much!
It pains me to say it, but the 111S is the better car (CR box, VVC torques etc), but for pure character a Scandal S160 is hard to beat!
I really like that, so tempted but fairly dubious about the rebuild mentioned as the name of the seller is slightly mis-leading.
Also the spec of the car is incorrect "118bhp"

I think the 118hp comes from Pistonheads - you select a car from their DB when putting the advert in. I've seen a few ads explaining that they couldn't find the right car on the system etc.
That said, the dealer website, and name, given none of us have heard of them is inexplicable and screams stay away. Shame, lovely looking car.

I've heard of them, been around for years.
The incorrect pet thing is just PH being a bit sh*t, happens with a lot of the cars they list. NA S2 exiges tend to have 141bhp or something similar on there.

It is a category D. Perhaps seller should state that up front in their advert!

In fact I think by law you have to declare that in an advert? It also has a slightly iffy MOT history and is currently registered as black rather than green. I think I’ll avoid that one...

Think you’re right Stu, and if not legally obliged to declare Cat D, then certainly should be ethically obliged to do so...
If it was non Cat D and was originally Scandal Green SVA, it would surely be worth in excess of £30k.
I Reckon the future value of these will be as much about provenance and originality, and it’s a pity this one struggles with that.
Still, it looks like a nice enough car for someone as long as they know fully what they are buying.

Ah, that explains a bit. Never noticed the amber front indicators, a give away for a 160 it's had front end work.

“ Lotus racing” also bought my old S1 from the insurance company, then contacted me for spare key and the cars history. Told me they were putting it back on the road. Looks like that’s just what they do.

I'm glad that S160 is a duffer. I can stop drooling now.
