Anyone used TyreLeader?

Post by Stevoraith » Thu May 02, 2019 9:41 pm

Ordered 4 AO48s for the Exige last Friday from Tyre Leader.

Still don’t have a tracking number or any sort of indication that they’re on the way.
Filled in the online form which seems to be the only way to contact them yesterday but had no response.

I guess I would just like to hear if anyone has successfully used them to give me a warm fuzzy feeling that I’ve not thrown away £700 😳

Yes I've used them in the past and the tyres did arrive tho took a while. Not the best at keeping you informed but it's a genuine site so all should be good

Also used them in the past. I think they ship from France so it tends to take a bit longer.

Other thing in general is it’s useful to pay with credit card for items. Even for big items a part payment via credit card covers you for the full spend.

If anything goes wrong section 75 means both credit card provider and retailer have liability. This is much stronger than debit card dispute / chargeback for anything costing over £100.

Thanks guys, makes me feel better.

Buried in the T&Cs is that tyres can take up to 8 working days to arrive so I guess I shouldn’t be concerned yet.

I also paid on a credit card so have the peace of mind that if it goes belly up I’ll get the cash back.

The car is at a local garage waiting on the tyres so it can get through it’s MOT.

Moral of the story- just take it to Craig and let him sort it all instead of saving a bit of time and taking it somewhere more local.

Just to update this, tyres eventually turned up after 12 days (7 working days as there was a bank holiday weekend in there).
All present and correct so as long as you’re not in a hurry then Tyre Leader are ok 👍🏼

Ordered from them before and paid for special delivery. Never turned up and was sent 2 different tracking numbers that weren’t even valid. I’d rather they would have just said they weren’t in stock. I eventually got my money back after a couple of weeks

I've been using Oponeo for the last few years and you are hard pushed to beat their service. Tyres always delivered within the timescale stated and the prices are very good.

Worth trying next time you are looking for tyres.

Avoid Demon Tweeks like the plague. I'm coming up on 4 weeks for a pair of tyres and their customer services are terrible / don't reply. :x

Hectyre? I've used used him a couple of times over the years, but his opening times and my working hours rarely seem to coincide, so I usually end up buying them myself and getting Paul Bowers, my local trusted indy garage to fit them.
After this disaster, perhaps a re-think in tyre supplier is in order!

In the end, Demon Tweeks hadn't delivered after 6 weeks, so I called and cancelled.
I re-ordered with giga-tyres.co.uk who Paul is an agent for (or at least appears as a fitting centre, not sure how it all works) and had them delivered there whilst I was on holiday.

I honestly didn't think buying a pair of Uniroyals for a Fiat Panda would be so much hassle

Aye Hectyre - but agree their opening times can be limiting.

When I've bought online I could never fault Camskill but to be fair it's been a loooong time since I bought tyres online.

Started looking again as fancy AD08R (being replaced by AD08RS) for the Cerb as the current Goodyear F1 aren't quite doing it under full throttle...

Ive just had a pair of AD08R for the rears delivered yesterday from Tyreleader. Their pricing was good but the tyres have arrived with a date stamp of 1516 so over 3 years old. Ive complained to them so will see what they come back with.

Havent seen any reviews of the AD08RS yet as they are too new but since they are different compounds i didnt want to run them with AD08R on the fronts.
