Replaced with AD08RS - same tread pattern but more "Eco" compound...hmmm.

Still some AD08R on the shelves at the moment so pile them high!

Looks like Eliseparts are out of S1 front AD08R.

A good garage in Glasgow I use regularly couldn't get any fronts. Ronnie at wheelsaround still has fronts and rears in stock... for jsut now.

Yea, was talking to Ronnie about that. He has a good turnover so doesn't hold stock for too long. Also, he stores them in the dark... apparently that makes a difference.

So what alternatives are there? I used Toyo 888's before, no doubt the European regs will have ruined those as well.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

I got a quote from him - he was £20 a tyre more expensive.

Has anyone actually driven on the new compound? You never know it might be OK, gasp might even be better. Bunch of metathesiophobics. lol

Admittedly the R compound ones were very good so its a tough gig for them...

No - i cant find any reviews for them either. I only needed rears as my fronts are fine. didnt want to mix compounds front to rear to test them. I tweeted some journos to ask if anyone had tested them - no reply. I also tweeted Yokohama asking them what the grip differential was between the two compounds - no reply.

I doubt that there would be a dramatic difference, possibly not even noticable, but I fancied the idea of the grippier versions while I could. When the time comes again, I will likely go for the AD08RS. :thumbsup

Was it not the same when we went from the AD08 to the AD08r deep suspicion and wariness turned out better.

I don’t have these dilemmas now... Cup2 and that’s about it choice wise on 19/20 rims.

I wonder if the AD08RS will be allowed in Auto Solos?

I 'downgraded' from AD08R's to V105S, and found them much better on the road (its a pure road tyre, no track pretences) with as much grip as you'd need on the road.

Plus it comes in the correct 195/50/16 :)
