Best hot hatch for £10k
Re: Best hot hatch for £10k
I properly just laughed out loud when I drove an i3 it’s like being attached to a huge rubber band and launched forward. Handle great too.

I think I looked at the start of the year, £15 and light on warranty.

Electric residuals too unproven yet.C7Steve wrote:What about an i3?
You will easily win the traffic light starts.
It’s not so good at handbrake turns with the electric handbrake though. Fuel bills would be most welcome and the mp/charge should keep you happy.
Steve.
Certainly would look at it.
Really wanted the Golf GTE to work but understanding is it wasn’t good enough and VW pulled it.

Am I the only one who thinks that is a very strong price?campbell wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 10:46 pmPretty. Scarydouglasgdmw wrote:If your going to wear a medalion it has to have a complimenting chest rug. Ditch the 2.2 and go for a proper Alfa:campbell wrote:Wow. Might have a winner there, Gary.
Assume similar annual budget to purchase price to keep it going?!

Alfa's with a GTA badge always hold a lot of value, and they are only getting rarer. Anything with a Busso seems to be going up too.pete wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 2:32 pmAm I the only one who thinks that is a very strong price?campbell wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2019 10:46 pmPretty. Re: Best hot hatch for £10k
208Gti certainly looks pretty, far less common than a Cooper or ST, and on my list a always wanted a 205Gti.

AS it came up I like the i3. For motorways and citys it's nearly perfect. But it doesn't have the depth of a proper hot hatch, the chassis is too limited by its traction control. (Amongst other things)

That's heavy on price too, plus for me not special enough to be paying £570 annual RFLCorranga wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 2:44 pmAlfa's with a GTA badge always hold a lot of value, and they are only getting rarer. Anything with a Busso seems to be going up too.

Re: Best hot hatch for £10k
No.
Plans are all changing so the Trusty TT looks to be staying for a bit yet. Just changed the tailgate struts on it and the centre brake light is next.
Disappointed in a way as the Hot Hatch project was looking like fun. <rolls eyes>
C'est la vie.
PS - my brother may have just bought one though...get ready with the pelters

Mini going on the market shortly - just getting pics together. Will pop in classifieds if still for sale but had a couple of folk interested already.
2010 R56 JCW in British Racing Green - fully loaded with Sat Nav, Harmon Kardon and panoramic sunroof - feel free to shout if interested
New steed due to arrive shortly - prepared for pelters Not sure it fits into the "Hot Hatchback" category - but we'll see!
