I looked at those - cracking value for money - but couldn't quite convince myself that a Peugeot was a good idea, and apparently the infotainment system is slower than a week in jail. I still have an image of them sitting at the side of the motorway awaiting a yellow van....Dark wrote: ↑Wed Sep 18, 2019 1:45 pmMight be "two" many doors for Campbell?

Apparently a very nice drive though.
Re: Best hot hatch for £10k
Seems you’ve binned the idea off now Cambell but my money would be on a Honda any day. I had 2 DC2 Integra Type R’s and they were brilliant fun cars to drive. May yet tick the DC5 box as well as also always wanted one and prices have levelled/starting to climb again.
My favourite that I had though was my FD2 (4 door import saloon) civic Type R. Was like an Integra with 4 doors. I used to track it at knockhill before I got my first V6 so you may have seen it at an SIDC event. These are still fetching around £13-18k though and have levelled out, unless you go for the Mugen RR version which is a steal at £45k
I’m off to check the classifieds....

Re: Best hot hatch for £10k
Apologies for blatant plug - but on an appropriate thread to be fair.....
There's a lovely sub £10k hot hatch in the classifieds now
Cheers

Yep had to abandon the project for now. But agree on FD2. DC5 on my bucket list too but they are getting old...Simon82 wrote:Honda stuff

I am liking the new 2020 CLA AMG 35
New interior, 0-60 4.9 , 35k on carwow seems very reasonable for an AMG ... with my limited knowledge of mercs.

3 rear seats not idea for my kids though

Just be careful if you lease/PCP from Mercedes, have heard horror stories that they sting people badly as they want to look showroom condition when returnedscott_e wrote: ↑Thu Sep 19, 2019 6:57 amI am liking the new 2020 CLA AMG 35

Re: Best hot hatch for £10k
Rather late to the party with this, but how about the Abarth 595?
Never driven one, so can’t comment on that rather vital factor , but like the looks personally..... and they make a nice noise
Also, guess they’re more of a “super mini” than “hot hatch”, so not sure of rear seat space?

I’d forgotten all about this
Time has moved on and the window has passed methinks.
Without a thought for any ramifications, I recon it’s close between Fiesta ST and Golf GTI
Integra Type R has popped up again too. Might struggle for £10k though
