Tyre fitting

Post by ferg f » Mon Sep 02, 2019 12:56 pm

Anyone know of anywhere around Ayr, Kilmarnock, Mauchline, Cumnock area that will fit tyres that customer supplies? Oh and aren't going to butcher the alloys!

Cheers

Abbotsinch tyres in Kilmarnock have fitted LTS spec Yoko's for me before. The caveat being those tyres were only ever available from Lotus or Elise parts. However, they are good guys. I've used them for years, so not sure on the other options.

Abbotsnch have supplied and fitted loads of tyres for me.

They are good folk to deal with, the fitters are normally OK but the Exige needed a very narrow socket which they had to borrow. They also scratched one of the Exige wheels but they were ace about it and arranged to get it re-done (everyone can make mistakes so I figure it's how they respond that matters)..

Cheers for replies folks.
It's actually for the wife's car as the folk that usually fitted her tyres have decided they aren't doing it any more and are trying to charge her £100 more per tyre than we can get the exact same tyre!

Cheers to Woody and Pete for recommending Abbottsinch.
Good service, arrived and explained that usual crowd had changed their policy that they weren't fitting customer supplied tyres and they'd said the tyre with the nail was not repairable.
Within 15 minutes we were on our way, still with two new tyres and a plugged tyre (which are only a couple thousands miles old)...... happy days. And they've said once the tyres actually need replaced just pop in and they'll fit seeing as we have them now. They'll be getting to quote for tyres from now on as well.
