Hi all
Finally got to 100k today, on the A701 near the Beef Tub - the same route as I took it on its first drive from Murrays 16 years ago.
In summary:
- Approx 250 laps of the 'Ring
- Various laps at KH, Brands, Oulton, Spa, Croft & more
- Trips to the Alps (a few times) and Spain (twice)
- Happy memories of lots of Borders runs
- and, I estimate, about 600 trips up and down the M90 for work
- Only once failed to complete a journey (HGF)

Awesome. Smiles per pound?
250 laps of the ring is some going.

Tim that’s brilliant!
Our “100k run” took in the Beef Tub too. Spooky! Class, though.
Congrats for making it that far
What an amazing set of stats.

Hi all
Yes, many Ring laps back before the kids were born and I could disappear off to Germany for days at a time. Had a season ticket one year.
Upgrades - nothing much. Various bits over the years but now all about back to standard apart from some Nitrons. Car's still plenty fast - it's me that's slowing down!
Cheers
Tim

congrats. i reckon i must have done about 60K in my S1 in 4.5 years, bought it just shy of 40K and sold just shy of 100K. I have absolutely no idea what i did in the S2 135R in the next 3 years after that tbh, tried to block the S2 memories from my mind

Great achievement! Treating her to a tank of super?!

No point - the 111S VVC engine doesn't have a knock sensor so wouldn't advance timing to take advantage of the super - you would just have slightly longer unburnt hydrocarbon chains in the exhaust (probably still burning, in fact - I wonder if you can damage an engine by running it on 98 or 100 RON fuel?).

That truly is a hijack, Sanj.
If I could remember how, I’d move your post to its own new thread
Have you been drinking again?!

No I have not built such a thing ... Campbell something like moderator tools, split thread from memory.
I have worked on some LoRA stuff for one of the companies I help out, and in the dark ages I worked on an X25 radio modem, but never peer-to-peer systems like this one. Are you thinking of making one? I suspect it can be implemented in software on your PC with a sound card plus a simple modulator, or more recently there is a lot of software defined radio activity - so you can buy a board that has a configurable radio transceiver (configurable as in it can be tuned to use any of a wide range of frequencies and the modulations it uses are all software defined). So you could probably make your own APRS system pretty easily, if you wanted to.
Cheers

I always use 97 or 98 in my standard Rover engine . Doesn't the super have better detergents for keeping the engine clean? or am I wasting my money ?
