9 Cars last year what I heard
Its sad to hear that it's that low, Graeme probably did that and more a month in the days of the S1/S2.

However, goes to show that the price point at the moment does not generate sales and hopefully when they launch the new Elise variant they will get that right.

Wonder how many sales per region in the UK, as Scotland must have beenin the top 3 (at least) for Lotus sales 15-20 years back.

Thought that as well but err'd on the side of caution.

Anyway, Mr Robertson had created so many "unique" coloured Loti in his time at Murray's, did not want to give him any more bragging rights Image

Email today from Lotus (got permission to post the following):
  • At present Lotus are in talks with some dealers in Scotland looking at partnerships and are hoping to have the issue of a lack of dealer resolved as soon as possible.
  • This year is very much about the Evija and there is much speculation on models that are going to be released. We unfortunately will not have any updates ourselves until late September / October time.
Questions
  • Who would be your choice of existing dealer for a new branch in Scotland ?
Guess David Hayton will be low down most peoples lists following the horror story customer service on this forum.
  • What is the most likely new (Elise, Exige, Elan, SUV, Evora) ?
Elise I reckon. Updated bonded aluminium frame with a Volvo engine.

My guess maybe Douglas Park for dealership. Currently have McLaren/ Maserati /Lambo/ Bentley/ BMW + a handful of more lowly marques, and they are based in Hamilton so just down the road from me :thumbsup
Lotus new model must surely be Elise for big (relatively speaking) numbers or my second guess would be Evora & keep it high end to capitalise on better profit margin. Engines to be Volvo and eventually then bring out the inevitable hybrid or EV option ( as the Evija will be rarer than hens teeth)

That being the case then at least tag servicing to volvo dealerships which will give wider spread of available service centres.
Or sell Lotus through the Volvo dealers, MMC had the original showroom next to Suzuki was it?

Volvo didn’t pass from MMC to Leven so it is separate - Volvo Edinburgh now. Ironic that the Volvo showroom moved out just as Lotus became part of the same group

I meant that when Lotus was in the other showroom Suzuki or kia was in the same building.
Now that Lotus and Volvo are under the same owners why not sell both through same dealerships.
Give Lotus access to a wider audience.

9 cars a year is pretty grim, my nephew sells Audis and can do that in a weekend.

It gets worse. Carlisle Lotus can not do warranty work as their Lotus mechanic left.
The factory needs to step up their efforts to appoint a new dealership or a service agent!

Maybe worth asking the factory if HHC can cover warranty work?

Excellent company, cannot recommend them highly enough :thumbsup

Wow this isn't good.

I have another 7 months warranty left on mine, small annoying bits need fixed too. Not impressed at all.

Hopefully something is arranged in Scotland soon. I had been using lotus themselves for work. But sounds like I'll have to use a specialist in the interim.

baffles me that they don't appoint CMC in the interim to do the service /warranty work?

Cant expect customers to go to Carlisle for servicing!!
