Bit of rubbin and it won't look so new but it does look 8)
Was speaking to Gav (owns the Orange S2 Exige that he races in the mid engined serise this year). Sounds like they have a bit of work on the regs before it will be good. Good example is a standard Exige (minimum weight 750kgs) goes in a different cat to a 111R (min weight closer to 850kgs) - Gavs looking to turn his Exige into a 111R to get round this - just nuts! It is imposible to bring the weight of an S2 down to 750 without use of a lot of CF (not allowed)

My S2 135R weighs in at 765 kg, no fuel, no driver.

Not sure why it's going to be impossible to bring weight down to 750 ... unless you mean the ones with those heavy & unreliable toyota engines ;-)

Yup sorry if I was not clear
both S1 & S2 have a min weight of 750 kgs
Considering Gavs car with one race seat every thing stripped out and placstic windscreen is just under 850 :(

So where does the 100kg go, then, roughly.

I assume the roof and tail weighs in at a fair bit more than the soft top.

The engine+box is bound to be heavier, but given the honda weighs in at +40kg compared to the K, I doubt it's worse than that for the toyota.

Anything else?

Cheers,
Robin

No point in reducing weight for the LOT series racing.

Was on the phone to Scuffers for 1.5 hours the other night, and cars will be ballasted in their own classes to even out performance differences.

Lead weights will be used bolted down on the pax floor to try and get a level playing field, so that in each class, driver ability should be the determining factor.

More stickers than I have, but good to see that he still has his original 5 spoke S1 wheels.

Better than his colour co-ordination when I first met him in '99, azure blue S1 with orange wheels, looked bloody 'orrible.

Gav's car does have a full 6-point cage in it. And the clams have been made quick-release. The Toyota is heavier than the Honda'd cars because they use a much heavier rear sub-frame and heavier wishbones etc.

Less than 40kg Robin.

Engine is lighter, gearbox heavier, my car was 755kg on Marks scales, 3/4 tank, just slightly more than Craigs standard S1.

Your car is missing so much else that it doesn't count ;-)

Below the belt<BG>

Just wait till next month. Don't have the Robin/John team on the job, but the Craig/Alan team will sort out the cosmetics.

Then out of the spears and arrows of outrangeous fortune(sorry Bard), will arise a new azure blue Phoenix, with nare a sticker in sight.

In fact bloody boring, as it will be another blue Elise with no identity of its own, so should I really bother?

In fact it would probably reject the new N1 TUT number plates that went on, so what would I have gained apart from a guilty concience?

Life can be so difficult at times..........
