I've been doing a couple of hrs of simple spelling and basic grammar in the morning.
After lunch I've been mainly doing arithmetic and an introduction to elementary geometry.
It's going well so far. Would be more fun if we had kids I guess.

LOL @ Renmure

We set our two up to simply follow their existing timetable. Teachers have been excellent at setting up a backlog of work for them. Lots of remote learning materials via Teams, Show My Homework and other tools. Internet has creaked a bit and MS Word for Chromebook is flaky as hell but all in all, it’s a success!

Day 3 and no-one’s killed each other. Which is a bloody result IMHO.

The New Normal is bedding in. Only 10 days til Easter Hols

Millie and I have had fun building stuff in teh past.

I think the best was a trebuchet, i wanted to make a desktop one, but I'm rubbish with carpentry so I made one about 4 foot high to throw apples.

We had great fun and might have accidentally done some maths along the way. (This was when Millie was in p5 I think.)

We have mostly been playing the "what's in this box" game...

As we have now so much time on our hands, we have been bringing boxes down from the attic and sorting through them.
Good news is I have found some of my old LP's...

So now I have to buy a record player..

No doubt the box with the old cassettes will turn up eventually.

Usually the Elise is put back on the road for April.

This time it will stay SORN and the Jeep will also be SORN.

I take my earlier comments back - things have changed since then.

I'm currently working from home (thus saving me from using a paint brush), but I've been dropping (and collecting) my wife at work in the centre of Dundee - seen a fair number of police vehicles on the road. I have a letter from her employer as proof of being a key worker, should I get stopped and questioned.

I think hooning around in a loud sportscar may be seen as frivolous during such unprecedented times....

As I work from home 100% of the time, my day to day has not changed that much to be honest.

As we live in the countryside we have changed our dog walking habit slightly and going out at night when it is dark to make sure we do not bump into anyone on the dog walk as its mostly single track.

However we recently took the plunge and subscribed to Netflix last week (after realizing it was only going to cost us an extra £1.5 /month from Sky). So watching a lot of car programs at night now - much to Sandra's disgust.

Did have to cancel the Porsche service/MOT due to Covid-19 but not exactly a hardship. Only did 13 miles in it last year so not as if it was being used much. Unfortunately I can't use it anyway if I wanted to as the MOT expired in Feb so will not be exempt.

This is week 2 of self isolation, as last week we had the symptoms of Covid 19, still not 100% but able to WFH for the time being.

Hot drinks and paracetamol - look after yourselves

Elise MOT due in couple of weeks. Can’t see that happening! 6 month exemption very welcome indeed.

I've been learning all about Google Classroom, unfortunately for the wee lad I am a quick learner and discovered that he's been pulling the wool over me and the missis eyes!!!!!! So he cannot actually do all his school work in an hour and then leave him to go out into the garden to play footy all day (rural, no neighbours and playing on his own). lol

Lol

The school tech is interesting. Our two are on MS Teams and “Show My Homework”. Both platforms creaking. Web versions seem to be more reliable.

Don’t tell them but they’ve actually worked really hard this week. Good momentum. Which will get broken up by Easter Hols next Friday of course

Howdy folks,

Not been on here for a while: hope you are all well! Hoping to use the coming weeks to finally get round to editing some of the footage I have of past trips and trackdays. Some of it has only taken 10 years or so to get around too... :D

Regards,

Bert
