I think you could be right Mike. I think that James could be a witch and that he could be cursed. That is why his car kept on setting itself on fire and trying to escape by means of the recovery truck every couple of months.

So true...
Re: Exige V6 prices
Superb, thanks for the feedback guys, really useful.
Re "better options for the road", sure there is, I have considered many but they are not a Lotus and that is where my heart it at.

Re: Exige V6 prices
Curious as to what these are in your view Mike, and if they align with the others which are on my shortlist

Re: Exige V6 prices
Depends your budget and balancing new versus used but Cayman S, TTRS, R8 (V8's a plenty sub 50k) 911, V8 vantage, Alfa 4c, Alpine A110, MX5, Ariel Atom all for the price of an Exige or less.

Saloon car, different category. If you look at saloons as well then my money would go on the Alfa Romeo giulia quadrifoglio just on looks alone (I will have one at some point). That and I would never buy another BMW, but that's just a personal thing.
But there's loads of tempting motors in that class,RS3, RS4, RS5, RS6, M2, M3, M4, M5, Merc AMG's, Porsche Panamera (not sure of used prices on these) etc, etc, etc.

Re: Exige V6 prices
Admit that I may be biased but would add in the Boxster Spyder to that list.
I got the 987 Spyder when I cancelled my Exige V6 order, and although I do not use it much, I have not been disappointed when I have. Lots of people say the Spyder is the equivalent of a 85% GT3 for 50% of the price, so definitely worth a look. Its also the closest Porsche got to the Lotus ethos with a little bit of idiosyncrasies added in (aka the roof).

My bad, forgot all about the Boxster. Definitely should be on the list and near the top. Loved our one and would have another.

Re: Exige V6 prices
Quite a few of my alternatives on that list, 996gt3 is tempting, as is Merc AMG GT

Re: Exige V6 prices
I prefer my S160 on the road, it's more fun at legal speeds and much more nimble on twisty bumpy stuff.
I find the V6 also attracts a lot of driver hate on the road, flashing lights, horns etc, never really get that in the Elise.
Again, I am sure a more modern car would perhaps be better, but they will never be an S1 Elise.

But some prefer to have extra creature comforts or just be able to get in and out of it without any gymnastics which kinda rules out an Elise.

Re: Exige V6 prices
Is an Exige realistically any easier to enter or leave.
