Jeezo Scott you certainly are keeping an eye on things!

Didn't even know such webpages existed! :shock:

The TVR didn't sell (2 timewasters :roll: ) and I've since spent a decent amount of money on a 12k service and some chassis care and she's going brilliantly so just enjoying her for the time being but not removing the PH & Cars & Classics ad, so will bide my time for just now.

I can see me in a nice S1 if I go the Lotus route... :cheers

Just had another look at AutoTrader & PH and a couple months down the line would seem that there's very little below high 40s now :shock: with the exception of a black one in Aberdeen but it's auto.

Just wondering if folk (like myself) are removing ads over the winter months?

Looking through my options, an Exige V6 is looking more and more suited to what I want (Ferrari 360s are currently low but would be sh*tting it too much regarding potential bills)

I have spotted on in particular which as a few choice mods (soft top kit, leather upgrade in sufficiently tarty hue) and is young enough to have the open gate 8)

:cheers

There is slim pickings atm Ross. I'm currently looking for an S2 Exige (190 due to budget) and there is nothing being advertised really.

I think a lot of the traders (such as Jon Seal or Will B etc.) will have a very long list of buyers waiting / registered some interest so as soon as they get something they can sell without it needing to be uploaded online.

I've asked Will B for some pictures of the laser blue S2 Exige when he gets it in, but I doubt I'm the only one. I still also balk a little at paying £24K for a 190 Exige but its a sellers markert atm.

But you should 100% get and S3 Exige! ;)

I'm just seeing what looks like all S2 Exiges being overpriced!

Plenty are well into the 30s, which is madness seeing as that's S3 territory!

Not in a position just yet, will wait and see what my thoughts are come springtime I guess :thumbsup

I think there have been some real shockers with Exige V6's too.

Elise prices are also on the up, seems to be a general lack of decent 2nd hand stock of all variants.

I guess the market demands the price, I've not driven a V6 but I agree at a certain point in the market (basically the V6 entry point) why wouldn't you go S3 over S2!

RGB's etc. going for 35-40K seems a touch mad when that bags you an early V6, but there you go!

Just go and buy one now Ross to chase away the winter blues ;)

Oct Exige V6 Roadster with 29500 miles for £32000 private sale (2014)
Nov Exige V6 Club Racer with 11000 miles for £42990 dealer (2016)
Nov Exige 350 with 22000 miles for £41995 at approved dealer (2016) (was 46995 then reduced)
Jan Exige 350 with 6747 miles for £44789 at approved dealer (2016) (did not sell and was moved to B&C)

Now Exige 350 46k-48K minimum from a trade source. So prices up 2 or 3 k for sure. Unusual for this time of year too. normally the other direction :lol:

Lack of stock for sale has been an issues since spring really. Dealer mentioned the backlog of stock from Lotus was all sold. I am guessing the production line rate slowed. Less sellers on the market too. Will get better in time. I was honestly considering a new Elise for a while to get what I want but planning to hold of until I find an Exige 350 I really want. Christ I have waited long enough already, what is another year :roll:

Re the 40K auto at motorchoice Aberdeen, was reduced from 44 ish iirc. Was offered to dealers but no takers. Could probably make the trader an offer.

Good to have your keen market knowledge Scott :wink:

The Auto in ABZ doesn't interest me in the slightest - certain cars should never be anything but manual for me - this being one :cheers

Always happy to help if I can Ross :) I blether nonsense most of the time to be fair :lol:

Agree a Lotus should be manual shift. The open gate shifter for me is a must for 2 reasons. 1) it was subline to use but to be fair my frame of reference is a pretty low benchmark i.e family nissan and toyota and 2) could be the last manual shift we see in a Lotus pretty soon, want to experience it while its around. Interested to hear how you get on. Expecting available stock will pickup in the Spring.

If it wasn't for this darned pandemic we could easily have met up for a coffee and blether about Lotus and cars in general, seeing as we're not far from each other, and I could have taken you for a hurly in the Cerb (a bit of a handful in this weather to be fair) :D

Maybe come springtime I'll have been vaccinated (I jump up an age category mid-Feb) so meeting up could become possible again!

:cheers

For ref , Exige sales Europe. Assuming DB values are accurate I make that 172 to date in 2020.

------------------------------
2020 = 172
2019 = 290
2018 = 308
2017 = 343
2016 = 361
2015 = 305
2014 = 265
2013 = 239
2012 = 16 (first year for v6)
------------------------------

The red flag is clearly 290 in 2019 verus 172 in 2020 to October (say 200 by the end of the year projected). Thats your used market price increase cause right there I would argue.

Takes 3 weeks IIRC to build an Exige , would be interested to know how many of the 172 sold were built this year and how many were stock.
