Pressure Gauge Repairs
Pressure Gauge Repairs
Does anyone know of someone in the Aberdeen area who could look at and repair a small pressure gauge ?. The gauge works but the needle doesn't return to zero. Not looking for pin point accuracy I just need it to work and be within +/- 50psi if possible. Don't want to approach the big companies up here as it's not worth much but I would like to repair rather than replace it.
Re: Pressure Gauge Repairs
PS. Doesn't really need to be in the Aberdeen area, anywhere I can post it to is fine as well.
Re: Pressure Gauge Repairs
Probably cost more to repair and recalibrate a small gauge. The process is the same regardless of the size and accuracy of a gauge.
Correct or reset zero
adjust for span
check for scale
calibrate
on a small 2" gauge span and scale aren't always adjustable so the gauge is junk but you would still pay the inspection cost. Better to just bin it and buy a new one. They only cost £15-20.

Re: Pressure Gauge Repairs
I'm curious .... what are you using it for and what sort of pressures are you recording that a +/- 50 psi tolerance is fine! Something industrial?

Re: Pressure Gauge Repairs
It's a hydrolastic pump I've restored. Gauge reads up to 400psi however the suspension pressures are usually around 350psi but normally set to a height as opposed to pressure. Maybe +/- 10psi is more realistic, but as I say normally it is set to the height not pressure.

Re: Pressure Gauge Repairs
I don't really want to fit a modern gauge if possible hence the preference for fixing the existing one.
