In other news, I bought a car today too, still not a lotus, and quite a fair bit older than your purchase :damnfunny

:cheers
Got the old girl home today - what a thing! Some of you will have seen pics on my FB/insta. I'll get pics up here when I get a chance - absolutely love it! :love
Looking for pics and info. Fairly left field :blackeye
Jim - you could say that

Very happy with her - many upgrades such as 1750 Twin Cam with twin Weber 40 DCOEs, Nardi wheel, lowered springs & upgraded dampers, adjustable top arms, Alfaholics s/s zast and TZ1 alloys, BF Torini period buckets.

Drives just like a 50 yr old sport saloon should, revs beautifully, and puts a big smile on my auld face :D

:cheers

Thanks chaps :D

George - it's lots of fun, not really yet had the opportunity to take her down a country lane, as collected Friday past from Carlisle (was trailered up from Norfolk) and just wanted to get up the road so used the motorways, and just did local pottering about at the weekend.

Full synchro 5spd box and LSD so should be good for getting the power down.

Reasonably sprightly with approx 130bhp and only 900kg to pull along

Haha thanks Campbell, I think  I suppose I should take that as a compliment :damnfunny

I've always wanted a classic Alfa, and having just turned the same milestone as your good self I thought now would be a good time as any. This one has lots of the spec I'd want, so saves me much hassle and lots of added expense :thumbsup

I also have the added benefit that my MOT guy also happens to be one of the most reputable Alfa Indies in Scotland, and is heavily involved in AROC so knew of the car when she was imported from Italy in 2019 8)

Good reminder btw - I have that magazine all ready to go - just need to swing by a post office

Look great Ross – congratulations, sure that will be great fun 8)

P.S. Think I spotted the car a couple of days ago heading towards B/Ferry past the roadworks at foot of Victoria Road, but wasn’t certain it was you - can’t be (m)any others like that in the area! :)

That is most awesome! New cars are great but seeing new old stuff just puts a smile on my face that bit more. I bet it sounds pretty characterful with the twin webers and rorty looking exhaust. Enjoyable miles to be had I'm sure!

Not in the Elise, was on foot - if you noticed a strange character standing in the middle of the road at the road works, peering at your car like a crazed stalker as you drove past, then that would have been me!

Cheers - yes she sounds ace - lovely rorty induction roar  and I also love them smell of oil and petrol, something lacking in modern injected cars - certainly makes me smile

Haha can't actually recall - you were maybe looking at my son as he was in the passenger seat, bearing in mind it's left hand drive :drive
