Guessing based on:
- the press release statement
We will have a new chassis and 3 new models announced by summer being:
- Elise S4 starting at 55K (roadster)
- Starting with ICE (i.e last combustion enginer model)
- but platform built to move to full EV i.e the way the batteries are stacked mid engine

Does this change your potential outcome Scott?
Or were you always looking at previously owned?

Look forward to hearing more.
‘Type 131 will succeed them all in one form or another’
Original Pistonheads brief seemed to state one model, later posts more vague.
End of current Elise/Exige/Evora names, next generation start, one new name with variety of specs/styles to cover all ?

For a small company like Lotus, dropping there most well known and iconic brand name "Elise" is just crazy IMO. If anyone is going to know anything about Lotus its the word Elise over anything else. I get this is something completely new and maybe they need a new identity though. I still think its a single platform with named derivatives though.

Been specing and getting quotes for a new Elise + Cup 250 , just cannot find the Exige I want yet. Longer I wait the bigger my budget within reason. Its very tempting to wait and see what vehicle is coming next after this announcement. With the final production runs this year on the S3s its my last chance to get one. The 55K base price on this new model is over my intended budget but well worth considering. Just need details but looks like its going to be summer before anything is known. I like the fact the current models are awkward , small and difficult to get into. Part of the charm and uniqueness of a Lotus .... this may change as I age and get less flexible

Craving the new model details at the moment, spec , price, looks. Timing is pretty good I guess. Not committed to anything yet.

Careful with the splinters on yer a*se
Nah I get it - definitely good timing - more options for you, wait and see how the new "Elise" looks etc.
Totally agree ref keeping the Elise name btw - and also the drama of exit and entry, I'm sure I read someplace the new one(s) will more than likely be easier of access and egress, mainly to appease the US market, which is a shame, even if it's understandable. Takes away some of the "specialness"
