All BMWs have an indicator stalk hiding in plain sight. Never used.

Skoda Superb has umbrella stashed in drivers door.

Octavia has ice scraper stored inside fuel flap.

Elise S3 has headlamps but beam kept totally hidden from driver.

And Skodas have a heated rear screen to keep your hands warm pushing them.

Since we're doing the old ones Image
Nice one Image

You no longer have a Beemer so have prob recovered.

Sadly for the comics, Skodas rarely break down these days.

Noticed a QR code in there?

Fast access to the right Rescue Card is crucial in an emergency. That's why Mercedes-Benz was the first automotive manufacturer to develop the Rescue Sticker with QR code. The sticker is affixed to the inside of the fuel filler flap and to the opposite B-pillar – two points on the vehicle which remain practically undamaged in most accidents according to statistics. Emergency services can scan the QR code on the sticker to gain direct access to the right Rescue Card for the particular vehicle via tablet or smartphone.

This information can save lives in an emergency because every move must be the right one and every second counts when it comes to rescuing people at the scene of an accident

QR style codes (sometimes DMC codes, don't ask me the difference now) are commonly used by factory integrators (the companies who design and supply the production lines and systems) to manage production through a facility.

Was flicking through some old pics to find something and saw and old one of our 3 series wagon. I noted I had the rear boot window open. The frame was so dusty I am sure the previous owner had never used it and probably never knew you were able to open it.

Was wondering what other hiding in plain sight features were out there.

Mrs A has an F31 in that colour.

The storage hatch for the rear blind under the floor - i showed a dealer that!

Ive also enabled a few things with Bimmercode - cornering lights, Bluetooth streaming (factory Option but hardware is there), Autofolding mirrors, one touch boot close and open from the key and the button inside, Turn the ignition and radio off when you open the door. Headlights on when you unlock it in darkness, Digital Speed display on dashboard, Beep on lock,

Must admit I lover the way on our old F31 that you could use the Radio Buttons as shortcuts for various functions such as Map to take you home, call wife etc. BMW had that functionality sorted, made the Audi RS4 feel low rent in its interior functionality

I’m guessing it’s not a secret feature but if a Mercs wipers are on but the rear one isn’t it give a quick courtesy rear wipe when you slot reverse.
Our 2007 Fiat Panda does that

The things I can think of that I suspect not many people know about, or perhaps just don't use as they aren't that useful...
Follow me home headlights - flash the full beams after parking and get 20 seconds of lights to light the path for you providing you're walking away from the car in a forwards, unobstructed direction!
Press and hold unlock button on key to open windows on a hot day.
Our old Alfa 159 would do half way down if you released the button at the right time, and pleasingly, it stopped the windows in a perfect arc / same level. Of course, being Italian, Alfa hadn't bothered to fit the other obvious option - closing the windows when you lock the car!
Our Mini does that.

The Maserati 4200 has a battery isolator switch in the boot, something all cars should have ;)

I'm not sure this is completely on topic but …

I've driven a couple of cars recently which put the radio volume down when you put them in reverse.

our work transit does this including hands free, not so good when we have to reverse 50m up a lane in the middle of a phone call.

Mrs B's Yeti does this, I just presumed it was to give the parking sensor beeps priority? I just touch X on the screen to cancel and go back to tunes

Good to know that I'm the radio can be turned off on the door open using bimmercode - the radio staying until you get out and lock is something the missus has been complaining about since we got the F31... I said just push the power button but

Just push the engine stop button twice- once to kill the engine then again to kill everything else.
