Put an offer on a Miami blue Exige 380 today. Didn’t accept but the counter offer was good enough for me to go sort out some finance with a view to go in with a comit to buy but I wanted to see what the dealer finance offer was so poked him. His response was that he’d changed his mind and wanted full retail now. Car number 4 that has fallen through. I refuse to be a fish at the end of a hook.

Interesting. May be trying to recover the loss they made on Ed’s recent purchase.

So frustrating having cash for a lotus burning a hole in my pocket and nothing available....

Wills cup 260 is nice and would be the current front runner (https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11952593) but it seems he can't be bothered actually trying to sell the car. This particular one is missing the expensive Ohlins dampers and has nitrons in place and even tho its a 2010 registered car its got the older splitter and spoiler (which I do prefer) so probably build way earlier. Plus missing the external fire extinguisher and electrical cut.

I asked why no Ohlins, and the answer was that they were worn with age and replaced which begs the question has it had a suspension refresh (no its not) and why not just get the Ohlins serviced?

If I was buying a cup then I'd want these included for that premium price. This isn't really a Cup anymore. That said, its very nice and none of these. things are the end of the world for the right price.

I feel the pain of having the funds but no car, took me over 10 months from deciding to buy last year to actually finding a car this year! I have a bit of a thing for red cars atm and not sure on budget, but this looks lovely to me:

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/11931009 Shame its not got a carbon Hard Top however.

I took myself out of the S2 Exige hunt earlier this year as the money does not stack up when compared to a newer Lotus (for me at least)

Nice problem to have however and good luck with the hunt!

That one is nice, I can't make my mind up about red sometimes I look and love them other times I'm like meh...

S2 appeals as running costs on track a fair bit less... but as you say yes, when youre at 43k its not a huge leap to get into a newer one considering you can balloon the residual.

Closing in on a deal… still plenty of opportunity for it all to go to sh*t yet but it’s close!

Looks like I’ve managed to snag a deal on this one. Not yet in my hands and purchase is conditional on inspection.

It was a coin toss between that one and Will Blackham’s Cup 260. My son Aaron (17months) was presented the photos of the two cars and picked the V6 (obviously because of the noise)

Fingers crossed the seller is a stand up citizen and honours the deal and has given me an accurate description. Else it’ll be a fcuk of a trip for nothing.

In other news anyone driving down to Somerset next week???

Excited to drive a manual again lol! Can I still do it, no gearbox in the Tesla and flappy paddles in the M4 will have made me soft!

Nice. I've always thought red with black bits looks mean.
Love it.
