It’s time...
Re: It’s time...
The market is really odd just now. I’ve had a few enquiries open for 380s and 410s. JCT had a nice Cyan Blue 410 for a sensible price which I would have bought however the first deal put down was silly. Like laughably silly stupid finance rate and awful partx validation 20% below WBAC, I politely declined and suggested he sharpen the deal up, never heard back. I got quite far In to enquiries for a nice 380 got some figures, not great but not silly either and room to work, arranged a call, guy never called, he apologised and I asked him to call me the next day, Never called. Some dealers haven’t even bothered to reply.
I guess all rolling in bags of cash for the FE purchases...

This. I don’t think they have to try ATM as lots of pent up demand. That said. I have heard of deals to be had. Right place right time maybe.

Don't get too downhearted but very frustrating when your looking for a car and dealers do not have the decency to call back.
Bit of a strange world we live in at the moment and sure it can't last this way.
Hopefully you manage to find yourselft something shortly

I count 18 Elises in total (s1,s2,s3) on Autotrader
Re: It’s time...
Wonder if people have assumed it’s a bad time to sell and decide to just hold on. Hence market v thin.

Re: It’s time...
I noticed that too, seems like dealers might be boycotting autotrader and using piston heads instead as there are a lot more on there.

Re: It’s time...
Plus ... Autotrader is not the first place I’d go to find an Elise (or anything else a bit special). PistonHeads Classifieds is where it’s at
There’s 59 Elises on there right now. Mostly at pretty strong prices. Including some comedy S1’s

Re: It’s time...
Thank f***k you have made this comment, as I'm keeping a wee eye on the prices and there is some serious nonsense going on
The recent silver one at £15k on here was far more realistic

Clean but not very exciting example here. On the wrong wheels and needs brake discs sorted out but if I were still looking I’d be on the phone to him.

Note - Cat N & S are increasingly likely and perhaps not to be ruled out ...
This one is a high price but chipped down and held long term, might be good. I wouldn’t be spending that though.

Re: It’s time...
The historic advertisements including spec/price is available via the WayBackMachine web page cache. Would be really interesting pulling price data per vehicle into a spreadsheet and averaging the series price per year but would take maybe 4 hours to pull the data. All I did in the case above was total the number of ads per series on a few sample dates in this case, 5 mins work. The source data is all there, just needs transformed into a useable form.campbell wrote: ↑Mon Apr 05, 2021 4:28 pmInteresting analysis!scott_e wrote:Some stats, total number of Elises for sale on PH snapshot:

Dealers have very little stock, the production line is running at maybe half capacity due to covid restrictions, pent up demand and then the supply of new vehicles is about to end. Perfect storm really.
