Evora Seats
Evora Seats
About a year and a half ago I bought a 2010 Evora and despite its high mileage it looks and drives brilliantly thanks to some TLC from Craig Moncrieff and his team.
I’ve had a slight niggle with some seat and bolster wear and discolouration of the Oyster leather but it’s never bothered me enough to do anything about it nor investigate solutions, though, I understand that a solution might be to re-dye the seats. I’ve never known anyone to do this so wondered if anyone in here had any experience of this and could provide any recommendations or indications of cost?
I’ve also seen some new genuine Lotus seat covers in the correct colour for sale and they’ve been advertised as a simple DIY fit, if I could find instruction on how to do that I’d maybe give it a try but to be honest, I wouldn’t know where to start without a step by step guide; has anyone attempted this before and if so, was it worth the hassle or would you recommend body-swerving it and asking a professional to do it?
Any thoughts or experiences in the above would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Evora Seats
I miss my Evora..... afraid this bolster wear is very common.
I notice Junks has some for sale over on Seloc. Motorsport auctions had loads (not in black) but there doesn't appear to be any left. He may have other colours too.
The seats are called Recaro CS.
This video should help!

Re: Evora Seats
It was a while ago but I had the seats on my old F355 redyed and treated where there was lots of wear and leather cracking around the bolsters. I used someone advertised localish in yellow pages (shows how long ago it was) as a leather and furnisher restorer. The result was absolutely awesome and they looked better than new for less than £100. I did have to take the seats out to him.

Re: Evora Seats
Guys,
Many thanks for the prompt responses.
Ed, it is Junks on Seloc I’ve been in contact with regarding the seat covers, the YouTube video was exactly what I was looking for, it looks like a bit of a mission to re-cover the seats myself, it’s good to know what’s involved.
Renmure, it’s good to know that the leather furniture restorer did a good job on your F355, I’ve done a little Googling and will contact a few locally today and get their thoughts and will also contact Transcal, thanks for the recommendation Campbell.
Thanks again, it’s very much appreciated.

Re: Evora Seats
Not very local to you but Barry at TVR Ecosse in Carnoustie has done leather dying (sometimes completely different colours!) to great effect - but as above there will be places more local I'd imagine

Re: Evora Seats
My evora seat bolters were fixed by murrays before i bought it as a used car - no idea what they did but it's obviously fixable.
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.
